  1. French would do much better spending the next year trying to be a TE in the NFL

  2. Most guards with good handles play point guard in high school. That doesn't necessarily translate at the college level. Tay Weaver, for example, was a point guard in high school. I'm rooting for Rashad to be the combo guard we're looking for.

  3. Cardet was still being courted by high majors late in the season. Family ties won out. Samford quietly hired his uncle after the pandemic started. In a time where a lot of kids aren't even making campus visits, a familiar face matters more than ever.

  4. I commented on this weeks ago. More "in the know" posters shot it down as false.

  5. Good article. He has not been a facilitator at all during his career, so I'm skeptical that he'll be able to fill that role. Also, I'm not sure how well Nesbitt will be able to do that. Goodwin was a secondary playmaker and I don't feel like we have replaced that. If he returns, problem solved of course, if not, it needs to be addressed. Remember last year, even with Goodwin, we had a couple games where our walk-on PG had to play some meaningful minutes due to injuries to YC and DJ. Also, this is another example of why the criticism that the P-D ignores us (yadayada) doesn't fly any more. In recent years, they have done a lot more feature articles throughout the offseason.

  6. I would look for a Tony Bergeron signing on as an Assistant HC, as the key in recruiting Mitchell.

  7. Penny probably told Ahmad he was a one and done. What he meant was one and done at Memphis because you'll be unhappy

  8. I'm hoping Yurimania is this year's bus driver. Although, I'm semi expecting JGood's return to the team for a last hurrah season. Sitting here in Charleston, SC I have no basis in fact for having this feeling other than I don't think he's going to like what he hears from the NBA. French is gone gone gone. So, Okoro has an open field. And don't forget Linssen. He was a pleasant surprise last year. That said I hope one of our big 3 is hard at work on a mid range jumper from 10-15 feet, elsewise, we're gonna be too predictable when we toss it inside. Think St. B tourney game if you need proof. Big factor this year will be keeping everyone focused on it's a team game. We need contributions from everyone and every game. Big or small doesn't matter as long as it results in a W. That means no hero ball, which we saw a lot of post covid. Time to shelve the egos and play solid team basketball, ala Rick's teams. The talent's there. Now it's Travis' job to mold it all into a finely tuned machine.

  9. I don't agree with Richmond being that high, but I do agree with them being higher than us. Both SLU and Richmond should be in the late 40's high 50's. Okoro and Nesbitt are too big of question marks to solidify us in the top 2 or top 40 imo.
