  1. Past hour
  2. I think you should add "travelin' man" or "King of the Road" to your bio at this point. This is super cool!
  3. I think logging into my account when I'm either buzzed/drunk or tired is almost always a mistake, but I regret nothing.
  4. Well it started in Fairfax, VA (vb) then to Richmond (ws) on to Myrtle Beach (mbb). Then it was baseball in Port Charlotte, FL, Millington, TN, Hammond and New Orleans, LA. On to Edwardsville, IL (wbb). Now at the A10 Tennis Championships in Orlando. Amazing complex. #4 seed men playing in the quarterfinals this morning against Mason. The ladies play tonight in the semis. They are the #2 seed and #1 VCU was upset last night. I don’t think either SLU team has ever made a regional. That would be really cool.
  5. Exactly. I can fly one way from DFW to PHL tomorrow on a wide body Boeing 787 tomorrow for $186 and be there in time for my morning constitution right next to independence hall.
  6. Today
  7. I think a Billikens.com after dark segment would be great. BJCH would be my leadoff hitter.
  8. Dear lord, it does not pay to be any level of inebriated in this conversation. I am, though, genuinely surprised at Pete's hostility towards Mason as I've never seen them as a serious rival/program.
  9. Train travel will never be able to compete with driving for most people - either need a car wherever you get to or somebody to pick you up. If train travel is going to ever be successful it must be able to be high speed. I took a high speed train from Rome to Naples and it was spectacular but, on the way, back there was not one available for the time I had travel and it was slow, behind schedule due to all the stops, and not even close to experience. Most people can not give days to travel just to take a nap and read a book.
  10. Gibson said he’s dating a St. Louis girl who was instrumental for him in the portal. Sounds like he has a keeper. Also, said he plans to stay in St. Louis long term as it’s where she is from. I was happy to hear it’s a place he wants to live and have a career. Too often the city gets sold short imo
  11. I’d recommend Intro to Earthquakes and Intro to Poetry to GJ. They were staples of the general electives back in the 90s.
  12. I think truth is not uniform, in other words there is no single truth that is applicable to everything. Truth varies with belief and perception and I think it is an individual concept. The variation from person to person may be minor. Truth is not taste or likes or dislikes. I think issues like logos are more a matter of taste than truth. In other words, as has been agreed throughout history de gustibus non est disputandum.
  13. Well, if our compliance dept is squared away I would think they’d tell Gibby you gotta take some courses. Suggestions: Pop Culture 101, Taylor Swift Music Appreciation, Pottery 101. Pilot Training at Parks. Plenty of ways to fill up his hours away from the Gym.
  14. thought that when I typed, first part fact, tagged last also as I typed.
  15. I’m not certain about this, but many grad transfers/post-grad seniors that SLU has had have been enrolled in a program called Certificate in Organizational Leadership, or something like that. In at least one situation, I remember reading that the program doesn’t actually start until some point in the season, which effectively allows the enrollees to be “enrolled” in an academic program to be eligible, but it allows much more flexibility in scheduling.
  16. You are basically saying that he is coming back as a professional player if he is not going into any kind of academic program. Interesting. Will this work with the NCAA?
  17. High speed train lines have been announced in California, and never went anywhere despite the expenditure of vast amounts of money. I would not hold my breath waiting for this NYC Dallas line to open.

  20. Irrelevant to Top 30. I’ll take it
  21. Looks like a lot of good places to visit; train travel is fun for all ages and if it competes time wise with a car that seals the deal- take a book, kindle, computer or just look out the window- take a nap, even
  22. I found that comment interesting. He isn’t going for a second masters. But he has to be enrolled in something to be eligible to play ball. I wonder why that entails….an hour online discussion course in pick and roll? Will @billiken_roybe upset that Gibson is not a 'full time student' ?
