I’m most concerned with how he will adjust to the altitude
-
Let's hope so. So sick of one Big and four guards/wings .....
-
I think Schertz saying that he is looking for Avila's back up, is a clear sign that plan A, is to play Casey/Anya with Avila. Avila is a nightmare to defend and requires double teams as works toward the basket. Another big cutting to the basket, gives Avila a big target and they either get a clear path or one defender to beat. I think Casey will emerge as the better of the two. He has legit size and athleticism. He also played with Avila before college and that likely played a role in him choosing SLU. Avila will look for him. He will also help a lot defending the post. Avilas weakness is that he is slow and not athletic. Casey strengths help cover that weakness. In my view Schertz gets an A, for roster construction. It was painful to watch Ford bring in starters that had the same weakness. For example, Goodwin, French, Bell and Yuri all had limmited shooting range. Some improved over time but it was an uphill battle, trying to score inside, against teams, that packed in their defense and dared SLU, to take outside shots. Schertz has a plan and I thing it is for 2 bigs on the floor.

I wonder if his wife and child will take to Wyoming.
-
Quite an itinerary ….. Memphis to St. Louis to Hampton to Wyoming. Just another lost soul in the college basketball mercenary world.
-
Laramie is gonna chew his ass up and spit his ass out. Figuratively speaking. There is literally nothing to do there.
-
He’s such a weird kid.
-
He’s up to school number 4, right? I think I lost track…
-
I believe he and Gordon are now tied for number of schools attended. I guess Jimmy Bell is in that group too.
-
At least no one brought up the issue of Wyoming Ice Cubes.

Could we have a thread for people with Altimeters who are bored
-
Can we get the BVF to sponsor preseason workouts in Lhasa Tibet? They have a court at 12,000 feet altitude. Our guys would come back to St. Louis like Supermen.
-
You could try Tibetans as well, they are permanently adapted to it. As a matter of fact one of the reasons that the recent fighting between the Indian and Chinese Armies in the Himalayas (using truncheons and knives primarily, no guns) has been consistently won by the Indians is that the units the Indian Army has been using are ethnically Tibetan. The Chinese are mostly from sea level.
-
We've been doing this recruiting thing all wrong. F*** Werewolves. We must recruit only Sherpas who are built for a high altitude existence.
-
Another former A-10 player headed to a P6 school. Brantley to Oklahoma State.
-
This is valid, not all people react the same to altitude

How long has Jokic been living in Denver?
-
-
I didn't run a marathon while I was there but did do some fairly strenuous cardio in Denver in April without issue
-
Sombor, Serbia has an elevation of 295 feet. Nikola Jokic has somehow managed to overcome is birth and childhood at sea level to become a 3 time MVP in Denver (elevation over 5,000 feet). "Never underestimate the lungs of a champion." - Rudy Tomjanovich's Pulmonologist (probably)
