Listener of the Streets (6/7)

  1. He won't do any of the possibly productive things that you said, because he doesn't really want to. All he really wants to do is complain and have other people listen to his complaining. I was going to compliment him on raising this obviously problematic issue without (1) replying to his own rant twice before anyone else did, and (2) without being overdramatic and overly vicious in his comments, but then he ruined it be doing exactly that in his other posts. This is definitely a real problem. I agree that Dr. Feser, if he intends to be a good leader at SLU, needs to address the issue. My question is whether or not this was a failure by the Athletic Department or another department at SLU. Either way, it needs/needed to be addressed.
  2. Agree. As much as I sympathize with his situation, for basketball purposes, we need to see that he can still do it before being able to count on him in any way.
  3. I bet if he was asked if Sharma and Dunlap have a chance to end up being All A10, I bet he would give a similar answer.
  4. I'm not sure the success of the Athletic Department is tied at all to the success of his podcast. I think May just does for fun and to give himself some visibility and relatability.
  5. I think I disagree with you. Sharma and Dunlap can shoot the three. With their size, that makes them perfect for Schertz's offensive system. Thames has not, yet, shown the ability to shoot the three consistently. He's hit a few, but not a reliable sample size. He is a slasher, which fit Ford's offense much more than it fits Schertz's offense. If Sharma and/or Dunlap are hitting threes regularly and, therefore, also drawing the other teams' good defenders out so that the middle is opened up for Avila, that may put them far ahead of Thames. That is, of course, if they are not terrible defenders.
  6. If Thames is healthy, I also think that Sharma and Dunlap are competing with him for minutes. I have to assume those minutes will go to who is showing the best overall game. Scoring, rebounding, defense, three point percentage, etc. will all come into play.
  7. But, it is definitely pure speculation
  8. If they've already decided to hire him, they may have told him that they will announce at the end of this season, but they want him spending his time familiarizing himself with their operations now.
  9. I wonder how he decided on the picture he used.
  10. SLU 92, can you please organize your thoughts for now on so that you put all of your ranting into one post and no longer have to reply to you own post twice before anyone else comments? That will make it easier for the rest of us in our efforts to avoid reading them.
  11. I don't know if this is even a possibility, but would there be any chance his resignation has anything to do with St. Louis City's open position for head coach?
  12. Pistol, do you know if these four offers came from coaches watching an AAU event and then handing them out? Just seems odd that all four went out at the same time.
  13. She needs to end up being the the basketball HOF. Her act only worked on basketball courts, so she was exclusive to that game. There are generations of fans and players who love her and her act. I've heard many stories about teams coming out from the locker room at halftime to watch her perform. If they let in executives, refs, broadcasters, etc. in the HOF, then they need to let the Panda in.
  14. That's great news. Good luck, TJ!!
