  1. I think everyone's point was just that - teams, coaches and players all will step up to a bigger/better situation not down. None one was saying the A10 is equal to a P 5 or 6 school.
  2. Football will never have enough money - it is like a multi billionaire - what is it they want another billion
  3. I believe the hosts were saying that the 85% is not happening now but will so how things are this moment is not indicative of what it will be once this happens. So, trying to equate what just happened to what they are saying is irrelevant.
  4. Well, this is not what the talk hosts said had existed. The number of scholarships is not what they were talking about. They were specifically referring to the money coming in from donors, TV money and other revenue sources. Stadium improvements, salaries and NIL money being spent. These people did not see what you are saying would happen regarding how the pie would be cut up.
  5. I heard some sports talk show hosts talking about how 85% of all the money raised at MO will go to football and the remaining 15% will get divided between all the other sports including men's basketball. They were suggesting that Gates should be looking to move on. It got me thinking that if this is the trend at all big-time football schools then I could see that Men's BB coaches may not want to be at a big football school because eventually their sport will be starved. So, what is their alternative - go to a non-big football school and those are basically the Big East or mid majors who spend on basketball. A school like SLU could end up being an attractive place to be because ultimately, the big salaries coaches are getting now will have to be decreased. I am not saying this will happen next year but systemic changes usually take a bit of time to kick in but kick in they do.
  6. They are paying for his hotel stays - his point was that he won't get the points since he is not traveling. School pays but he gets the points.
  7. They have one from Orlando to Miami that seems to run fine - I know people who say they use it.
  8. Train travel will never be able to compete with driving for most people - either need a car wherever you get to or somebody to pick you up. If train travel is going to ever be successful it must be able to be high speed. I took a high speed train from Rome to Naples and it was spectacular but, on the way, back there was not one available for the time I had travel and it was slow, behind schedule due to all the stops, and not even close to experience. Most people can not give days to travel just to take a nap and read a book.
  9. Looks like an awful lot of stops - won't be high speed then.
  10. I thought Rammer was supportive of Ford when all the stuff was happening?
  11. It must be a real burden to be such a..
