moytoy12
So the rule now is that you can start practicing 42 days before your first regular season game. For SLU, whose first game is on 11/15 vs. Hartford, this means they could've started practicing this past Sunday, 10/4. The other half of the rule is that you can only practice on 30 of those 42 days - in other words, an average of 5 days a week for 6 weeks. Crews has chosen to skp the first 4 days and basically make it 30 of 38 days, so they'll probably start with a couple 5 day weeks and then go 6 days a week after that. That's my guess. At first, I was a little thrown off, too, but this makes sense with a team trying to get to full strength, and maybe putting in a little more work the last couple weeks prior to the season. I also don't mind them getting into a little more of a rhythm with the classroom routine before starting full practices. So it makes sense to me, on paper. (This rule is only a couple years old; it used to be a standard date in October on which all teams could start practicing, which gave rise to the Midnight Madness trend.) Really appreciate the clarification, thank you. Makes sense within that context.
kshoe
Steve, can you update the schedule on the homepage to show the SIUE game as 11/18 instead of 11/17? I know of at least one person that thought it was 11/17 because of this website
Scoop
Also has @UMASS on there twice.

billikenbill
Hartford gets the double OT road win over Central Connecticut State. I have no idea if CCSU is any good or not, but I'd guess not. Indiana State loses at home to IUPUI, 72-70. Seems like a bad loss. Methdale nips Air Force at home by two. Air Force is usually pretty weak. Alabama A&M upsets Tulane. What are we doing scheduling Alabama A&M? Could be upset city when the Bulldogs come to town.
