Taj79
I believe kids typically sign more with coaches these days. Sure, some will argue it is with the program but isn't Krzyzewski the Duke program? Isn't Matta the Ohio State program? Cuonzo Martin taking Tennessee kids with him to Cal? I have to ask the question now "what is/was Biedschied thinking?" Because if he signed with Mizzou for being 120 miles down the road, then no big deal. But if he signed with Mizzou because Haith made wild promises about making him a two and all the offense would revolve around him, well, all that would then be gone. Then what do you do? If I'm Cameron Beidschied right now, I'm going "WTF?"

If I'm Cameron Beidschied right now, I'm going "WTF?" +1 And to be honest and fair, Mizzou is Missouri's flagship school, its facilities are great, its conference is bigtime, and its academics are good but it pales by comparison, in almost all categories, with Notre Dame. I have to believe that Cam thought a fresh start with Haith at Mizzou would make up for problems with Brey at the Notre. Now, without his coach, Cam must really be questioning things. If I were Cam, I'd be out looking around before signing his LOI this Spring. At least Cam has time.
JMM28
72- Biedscheid has already cast his lot with the Boone County Correctional College. He is enrolled there and most likely planning his first crime to better fit in with the team. He would have to sit out another full year to transfer anywhere else. The chances of him leaving there for SLU are less than 0.

I know he verbaled a month or more ago but nothing is official until he signs, and even if he signs, a coach's leaving can sometimes be reason for rescinding the same. RiseAndGrind
Just a question (in no way am I suggesting Biedscheid would leave Mizzou) If a walk-on transfers to another school and continues to be a walk-on, do they have to sit out a year still? brianstl
Cam has been at Mizzou since January. What is there for him to sign at this point? Transfers sign a financial aid agreement. I don't think Cam has signed one yet because Mizzou can't give him a scholarship this year. I don't think a walk on signs anything and Cam is a walk on this semester. I don't think a walk on signs anything and Cam is a walk on this semester. You are right. I found this article which says it explicitly: http://www.stltoday.com/sports/college/mizzou/eye-on-the-tigers/biedscheid-latest-transfer-to-join-tigers/article_3c5721c8-9a25-5d55-a1ab-a0f6b25a0c8a.html The key question for Cam then becomes the one Rise and Grind asks above. Is his 1 year transfer period from the minute he leaves Notre Dame or the minute he enrolls in his new school? If its the minute he enrolls from Notre Dame then he very well could leave Mizzou and go elsewhere and still be eligible by the start of the second semester. Not that this means anything to SLU as we are full up at this point, but it certainly opens the door for him to go elsewhere if he so desires given what has unfolded down there. Taj79
Two things ,,,,,' First, many thanks kshoe, great read. Second, it might say "St. Louis Post-Dispatch" but it's a "Columbia" paper for sure, as far as college sports goes.

cheesycow
Jeez, what is Alden thinking? Floyd got USC in trouble over Mayo. Unreal. Interestingly enough although he stepped down because of the allegations he was totally cleared of any wrongdoing apparently. The Tim Floyd brand screams impropriety but I guess the court of public opinion judges guilty even after proven innocent. That being said I don't think Floyd is the type of hire that really energizes a more and more uninterested fanbase.

He was found not to give cash to a booster who in turn gave it to Mayo. That apparently never happened. He did maintain ties with mayo's agent/handler, Mayo's AAU coach, and Mayo himself after he was told by the compliance office to stop his recruitment of him. Floyd also spoke to Micheal Beasley after Beasley had signed an LOI to play at K St. If Beasley had reneged on his LOI K State would have filed against Floyd. Floyd should have recieved a show cause penalty but for some reason he didn't.

Gotta love the coaching hire kabuki dance.
