This is seriously annoying. I saw that article. I thought Biondi had a nice Feb letter that came out today in which he addressed a lot of the discontent at SLU.

If you want to gripe about Biondi go talk to your wall at home, go make a blog, or write an angry resignation letter.

The basketball game is no place for this stuff. Show support for your Billikens and that is all.

This is a silly idea. It, as 05 points out, overshadows the team. And worse, these people are going to get thrown out of the game...

I agree. There is no way the security is going to let them do this. It will be taken down in 10 seconds. Incredibly stupid gesture if you ask me.

Personally, I would rather they do this outside of the arena, but it would also be a terrible idea for fans to confront them and try to take the sign away. Then you run the risk of having an altercation which turns into a news story, which also serves to get their cause publicity. If you see it ignore it. If they paid for the tickets and it is acceptable within the rules of Chaifetz Arena, who cares.

It seems like a really stupid idea for these folks to tell the media that you are going to do this ahead of time. If hanging banners is against the rules at Chaifetz, this gives security plenty of time to come up with a plan for confiscating it. Perhaps they are not really planning on hanging the banner, but rather by talking about it ahead of time, they have already succeeded in generating publicity for their cause. Now that would be clever.

Muggings and car break-ins still happen on a near-weekly basis, within a block of campus. Unless the DPS e-mails I still get are just making stuff up.

read my original post..... "might not get broken into"

you still get emails from DPS..... lol

This is getting ridiculous. These faculty and associated malcontents are really turning themselves into villains with stunts like this. Very few of them seem to have the best interests of the university in mind.

You either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain.

I actually thought this would happen. I also think as long as they aren't blocking anyone's view or being offensive I don't see an issue with it. If I were making the sign I would write:

"Confidence in our Billikens

No confidence in Biondi"

How about you stay at home. I take issue with it and your stupid suggestion.

Yeah, and before Biondi was president, your car still *might* not get broken into, making your assertion meaningless.

If you're arguing that Midtown was safer before Biondi took over, then you're wrong. However, let's just all focus on the stupidity of using a basketball game to promote an agenda.
