GOSLU68
That sounds pretty positive coming from you. Can you elaborate, have you seen him play? some of the scouting and Florida hoops blogs say he is 6 foot four or six foot five; unless he is lightning in a Bills uniform not sure we need another DE- please send us a true 4 or 5 that can play 15 minutes as a freshman against our existing stable of bigs

Dwayne doesn't slash (although he was starting to get a feel for it near the end of last season) and is just developing a perimeter shot. Jake isn't a slasher anywhere in the league of Winters. Winters would be another athlete who pressures defenses. Bring on Winters! I understand why some don't want to see us bring in two more 6'5"ish SFs this class but one more would be beautiful. You can't have too many long athletes with ball skills. I personally would take both Winters and Cheivous if they both accepted offers. Players get hurt, flunk out of school, whatever. That kind of athletic depth at SF is something SLU has never had in living memory. I'd bask in it.

He doesn't seem to be a good fit for the team. Not to mention ESPN cites his academics as a weakness. That hasn't produced good results at SLU recently. We need to find recruits that can handle the SLU rigor or at least put the time in to do well. If ESPN cites it as a problem based on high school performance it likely is due to him not willing to put the work. Ruben Cotto round 2? GoBills
Even though center is the Bills biggest need, unfortunately that is the most difficult position to find quality, especially this late in the recruiting. Rather than get somebody just because they have the size to look the part, I would rather get guys who can play. Too often in the past we've settled for players like Husak, David King and Travis Tadysak. Sure they were big, but they couldn't play. Or we would have somebody like Justin Johnson. Had the size and looked like a power forward, but he couldn't play. Most teams don't have the prototypical size at every position. If our best options are a couple of small forwards who add to our overall athleticism and skill, then let's get one. They will help us and find the floor. Coach will make the lineup combinations work.

Franchise_08
I vote for any talent we can get. Once we get to a KU level, than we can be picky on positions.

This late in the game.... not likely to happen. Everyone wants a serviceable big man. If they're out there they'll likely take the Harrelson route.... BCS. Yes, they're gonna be practice fodder for most of their careers but those bright lights are just too attractive.

I just don't get it. Nate's contributing writer posted a disappointing review and attributed it to Manning, turns it that he made a mistake it was quickly pointed out to all, the correct review then was not only posted but also was quite positive about Manning and yet this Board now believe that Manning is some afterthought, long-term project who will not contributed this next year but that there are replacements still out there this Spring who will make us forget about WR. Has anyone forgot that RM (like all head coaches) usually try to lower expectations for incoming recruits? Now, without much news here of late, the negative posts have resumed: RM is again a "lazy" recruiting according to NH...; our recruiting is in shambles now without the greatest recruiter in college basketball (PM), our remaining coaches are clueless and are now offending McCauley's Sophomore grandson by not making yet another phone call. Maybe we should get some positive news first before calling our Sophomore recruits -- like who the new assistant coach will be, who the new recruits will be so that we don't have another 12 win season. slu72
According to Scout SLU is the first and only offer Nolan Berry has at this time. We are ahead of everybody! When did we become so loaded w/ talent we'd turn away from a promising recruit? If this kid Winters is a slasher and can hit the 3 with some regularity the only other player we have right now that fits that description is KM. I hope we land him and Chievous (although he's seems to be fading away like that kid Peterson a few years back). Smuck Iowa. Leave our friginn' recruits alone. jjray
Westy- When is good news coming? Bump. Is good news coming? Sure would be nice to land an athletic SF in this class. I get the feeling all our targets have us as the fallback option and are hanging around to see if they get an offer from one of the big boys. This thread started with the post that he is visiting us this weekend. I believe that is still the case. We also have FanFest on Saturday. It would be nice if we can get some decent attendance to the event.
