    Okay.
38% from the arc is bad.  80% from the line is bad.  42% inside the arc is bad.
There are a lot of bad shooters in the NCAA.

That is some bs 20/20 hindsight 4 years after the fact. I don’t recall a single person on here advocating for that after we lost in San Jose.

Feels like every time I read a super strong anti Chris May post, and then go back to the top to see who wrote it, you are the one. Congratulations...I guess.

The Chicago location alone is all the reason that is needed.  TV $$ is what matters most.
You think the Big10 added Rutgers because of their incredible tradition of success??

It's McCarty going back to Evansville.  He'll leave the Celtics bench and return to his home town.
You can go back to criticizing Guy Phillips or the Chaifetz Banners now.

For what its worth, I'd rather make a Sweet 16 than spend 1 random week in February as the 10th ranked team in the country.

Yes. Have you ever been hugged? Done anything for others? I’ll hang up and listen to your answer. I don’t understand your vitriol. It’s like you have to keep a scoreboard of things. Have any hobbies? Volunteer groups? Peter Pan in a generic SLU jersey.

Opinions are not wrong or right.  Opinions are a personal view or judgment.  You can disagree with an opinion, which you apparently do on this issue - and that is fine, but you can't say someone's opinion is wrong.
    And that is my opinion.

I didn't see the need to 'quote' your entire summary, but as usual, great recap Pistol.  I keep longer lists of records, just because.....
A couple of interesting situations:  French ends up tied with Tommy Liddell for 12th on the Freshman Scoring List.  (Good company.)
Goodwin finished 16th in Freshman FT%, between Hughes and Conklin.  (Hope for the future?)  French finished in FT%, ...well let's not go there.
Bess finished 12th in Junior Steals sandwiched between Evans and Jett.
Johnson sits in 13th for Career 3FG%, between McBroom and Highmark.  Johnson's % is of course fluid.
Foreman is 38 FG Made short of qualifying, but if he keeps his .626 pace, he would take top ranking in FG% over Big Chill's .623.  We will see what happens next season.
Overall the home average attendance of 6,235 was the second worse in the ten years at Chaifetz but a substantial increase from last season's 5,593.

Final summary of class record lists reached in the 2017-2018 season:
    Freshmen
Jordan Goodwin: Tied with Roland Gray for 7th in scoring average, with 11.5 PPG. He bumps Cody Ellis (10.5) from the list, and Kwamain Mitchell now holds the 10th spot. He finished 7th in total rebounds with 195, just 1 behind Willie Becton. Along with French, they bumped Julian Winfield and Milik Yarbrough from the top 10. He finished 3rd in rebound average, with 7.5, between Gray and Becton and along with French bumping Ellis and Darryl Anderson. He's also 3rd in assists, with 103, between Kevin Williams (108) and Mike McCall (93). And he ended up 2nd in steals, with 52 on the season. Larry Hughes holds the top spot with 69, and Jordair Jett is now 3rd with 44. McCall drops off the list.
Goodwin came up just shy of total points, finishing with 300 and needing 321. He also came up shy of the blocks list, needing 20 and finishing with 16. His percentages were never in play, given the ice cold start he had from the field this season.
In summary: Goodwin made 5 freshman top 10 lists despite playing just 26 games. He would have made 6 lists for sure, possibly 7, had he played out the season. He would've been higher up on a few of those that he made, as well. The only other players in SLU history on 5 of these lists are Gray, Anthony Bonner, Scott Highmark, Hughes, Mitchell, and McCall.
Hasahn French: We all know about the blocks number, and he indeed holds the freshman record of 59 blocks in a season, topping Melvin Robinson's previous class record of 51 and bumping Tommie Liddell from the list. He finished tied in 2nd in total rebounds with Roland Gray at 228, with Winfield and Yarbrough dropping from the top 10. He ended up 6th in rebounding average, with 7.1 RPG and Anderson and Ellis falling out of the top 10. He worked his way up to 7th in field goal percentage, with .535, between Matt Baniak (.537) and Gray (.525), and knocking Dwayne Evans (.495) from the list.
His 298 points were 23 points shy of the top 10, he needed 10.5 PPG for scoring average and finished with 9.3, and he needed 31 steals to tie for 10th and finished with 24.
    Sophomores
Jalen Johnson: Unsurprisingly, JJ made his mark in the 3-point shooting categories. He made 52 3-pointers on the season, leaving him tied in 5th for total 3-point field goals with Virgil Cobbin and taking Jason Edwin off the top 10 list. His .394 percentage leaves him 5th in 3-point field goal percentage, between Marcus Bartley (.397) and Drew Diener (.393), and bumping Mitchell from the top 10. He also managed to sneak up to 7th in blocked shots with 21, between Chris Braun (22) and Ian Vouyoukas (20) and bumping Evans and Bonner from a 10th-place tie. Lastly, he grabbed 10th in free throw percentage, with .779 on the season and bumping Harry Rogers from last on the list.
    Juniors
Javon Bess: Even though Bess probably deserves the team MVP award this season, he unfortunately won't have a big impact on the junior class records. With 244 rebounds, he managed to snag 10th place in total rebounds from Jeff Harris (236). But otherwise the story is how he just barely missed most lists: He had 440 points and needed 453, he averaged 7.4 RPG and needed 8.2, he finished with 41 steals and needed 44, and his 13.3 points per game were never really a threat to Bonner's 15.5 PPG in 10th. Like Ford said, he does a lot of things for the team that don't necessarily show up on the stat sheet.
D.J. Foreman: Foreman cruised to 1st in field goal percentage with .626 on the season, easily passing Tom Frericks' previous record of .574 and bumping Redditt Hudson (.537) from 10th. But that will be D.J.'s lone contribution to the junior record lists.
    Seniors
Davell Roby: Roby managed to crack one top-10 list his senior season, finishing tied in 9th in total 3-point field goals with Roland Gray, with 56 made. For his contributions to the records, you need to look at the all-time lists, and that's where I defer to @HoosierPal:
Mr. Roby has permanently etched his name in the Billiken Record Book.  He sits in 23rd in Career Points Scored, between two other Billiken greats, Conklin and Ferry.  He is 7th in both Career 3's Attempted and 3's Made.  Interestingly he is one ahead of McCall in both categories, and also edged McCall in 3% at 36.5% (17th place) to 35.9% (18th place).  That's good company.
Roby ties Douglass and Heinrich for 10th place in Games Play with 128.  He is 11th in Minutes Played in a Career, one minute behind Billiken Great Claggett.
He also tied Kevin Lisch for minutes played in one season, both with 1068 for 17th on the all time list.
    All Classes
D.J. Foreman's .626 field goal percentage is good for 3rd all-time across all classes, between Melvin Robinson in 1989-90 (.632) and Carlos Skinner in 1990-91 (.616). Frericks and Donnie Dobbs, tied in 10th at .574, drop from the all-class top 10 list.
Hasahn French's 59 blocks put him 4th in total blocks in a season, between Melvin Robinson in 1990-91 (66) and Ian Vouyoukas in 2006-07 (57) and bumping Rob Loe's 2013-14 mark of 41 from 10th.
Jordan Goodwin's 52 steals tie him in 9th for steals in a season with David Burns (1980-81) and Quitman Dillard (1990-91).
Javon Bess' 1,195 minutes were the 3rd most minutes played in a season, behind Roland Gray (1,199) in 1988-89 and Tommie Liddell (1,182) in 2006-07. Bess is also now 2nd in minutes per game for a season, with 36.2. He's behind Anthony' Bonner's record of 38.1 MPG in 1989-90.*
Aaron Hines, Rashed Anthony, and Markos Psimitis did not end up on any records lists this season. Anthony, however, could have reached the 27 blocks necessary to make the senior top 10 had he played more; he had 20 in very limited minutes.
*Minutes records are currently being checked for accuracy and these numbers are subject to change.

I copied this from the A10 Blog referenced on the front page of Billikens.com.  This is from Coach Ford discussing Davell Roby.  Powerful words from Coach.
“He’s meant a lot to the university to our basketball team and to our athletic department,” Ford said. “Here is a young man who came from Memphis, Tennessee to Saint Louis University and gave Saint Louis University a chance and Saint Louis University gave him a chance and Davell Roby took advantage of that. I’ve said it many times in the last couple weeks, talking about him as a senior: He’s a true student athlete. He’s the definition. His picture should be right there by student athlete. He has taken full advantage of an incredible education that you get at Saint Louis University. Incredible. It’s not an easy place academically; it’s challenging.
“In the two years that I’ve known him, I’ve never had to call him into my office because he missed a class or because he missed a tutor or didn’t do well in a class or whatever it is. He rises to the occasion. He’s learned at Saint Louis University how to be a very accountable, responsible young man. He’s prepared for the next step, whatever that is for him, because he’s put a lot in to Saint Louis University, a lot, time and effort and great attitude, a lot. He’s put a lot into it, and Saint Louis University has given a lot back to him. For two years, like I said, he has a smile on his face every single day; and as I told him, man, he’s always going to have me in his corner for what he’s represented."

Roby certainly deserves a lot of credit for sticking thru some difficult times at SLU the past 4 seasons. It was impressive to hear when Ford came in that Roby really embraced that leadership role. I always appreciate guys who fight thru adversity and he certainly did that and rose above it. All of these qualities will help him tremendously as he moves on from his time in a Billiken uniform.
I also certainly appreciate everything that Hines gave us in his time at SLU and Rashed Anthony in his one season where he was seemingly everything you would want in a teammate who is at the end of the rotation.
While the 2018-19 Billikens are poised to really breakout, these guys will certainly be a part of that (as will kids like Mike Crawford and Reggie Agbeko who were in a similar spot the season before sticking thru tough times and being good representatives for the University).
