They do since that means it's 7 PM start times on the East Coast for the NY/DC markets...flyover country be damned!  LOL

If you got some enjoyment out of it, it wasn't a waste of time.
We're not making a run at anything without Medley becoming an above average point guard and Thames becoming an impact defensive player.  I will be eyeing their development over the next two months just as closely as Parker's.

I hope the staff can figure out what's going on with Thames' ankle.  We're going to need his defense in conference.  I like what I've seen from Medley over the last 5 games.  Keep it going young fella.

I'm sure these guys are able to generate lots of 3-point attempts against the mediocre defense they see in practice.  Doing it in a real game is another matter entirely.  Medley and Meadows attempts at breaking down the defense don't scare anybody.
Regardless, I expect us to be one of higher scoring teams in the A10 if Parker can return to form.  If you score 78 points, who cares how you score them?  The issue is can you hold the other team under 78 points?

It's a best case scenario.  Most freshmen play like freshmen.

I'm interested in the Indiana State situation for two reasons.  Schertz is a former D2 championship coach.  If Indiana State can secure an NCAA bid this year, programs who had shied away from hiring D2 coaches may begin to take a serious look.
I'm also curious as to whether his two probable MVC first-teamers stay loyal to Schertz.  They don't have to be part of a coach/player package deal.  They would have enough portal value to get the best deal for themselves independent of the coach's decision.

The story of Dusty May, Florida Atlantic's coach, is fascinating.  He was a student manager under Bobby Knight at Indiana.  His coaching philosophy is essentially a carbon copy but probably without all of the profanity.  He considers St Mary's a realistic model for perennial success.

I think it's a good idea to use the 13th scholarship for a defensive wizard for this reason.  It's hard to prepare for this level of defense without a similar guy on your scout team.

I've actually kept my personal coaching preferences to my self the entire time I've posted here, going all the way to Romar.  I don't control what coach SLU chooses to hire. I choose to root for the team we have on the floor.  But do I enjoy a good banter with my fellow MBMs about their preferences?  Sure.

Hiring young, unproven candidates isn't a new idea.  It's basically how low-majors hire coaches.

He's better offensively than both.  They were both better rebounders but he's solid there.  French was a dominant defensive player.  Okoro was a good defensive player.  Big Brad's defense is average so far.

There will definitely be a changing of the guard on the board over the next couple of years if Billiken stars just become short-term rentals.  There are a lot of long time fans here that have no interest in watching that.  Including me.

Per the pregame interview with Rammer and Earl, the first challenge Coach Ford issued to Ezewiro was to lose 30-40 lbs.  That may explain why he was so spry in his first game.  He's not the same lumbering hulk who was at Georgetown.
The next set of challenges for him is to learn the plays (since he wasn't playing he was on the scout team) and to get in game shape.

It's possible that TJ doesn't have a problem scoring at the 4.  It's possible he had a problem scoring against a player with similar quickness and a seven foot wingspan at the 4.  If TJ suddenly goes back to his normal output against players where he has a quickness advantage at the 4, we'll have our answer.

There was an Ezewiro effect, just not the one we expected.  Big Brad at the 5 allowed everyone to play their natural position.  But this is one of those nights were the opposing 4 was the most formidable two-way player on the floor.  TJ couldn't get anything done offensively against him.  The only impact Hargrove had on the game offensively were those glorious 28 seconds where he was playing the 5, saw the game slipping away and capitalized on his quickness advantage.
To sum up, the 17 points Ezewiro had  were nearly cancelled out by the 2 point game Hargrove was on the verge of having.

Some posters won’t want to read this. Brad thanks the SLU administration for helping him out.

If there something an MBM loves more than a win, it's a chaotic win.  This is an ending we'll be talking about 10 years from now.

Good to see the temporary restraining order be converted to a preliminary injunction that extends through the rest of the season.  Now the sword of Damocles is no longer over the players' heads.  Apparently the NCAA saw the PR disaster on the horizon and made the smart play.
