We were at the game in Peoria last night.
I get a really good vibe re this year's SLU team. The good vibe is like how it was with the '12-'14 teams. This has the makings of an NCAA Tourney team.
Bradley played with SLU the first 5 minutes or so. Once the substitutions started, Bradley was toast. This has to be the deepest SLU team of my fandom, which goes back to the 1970's.
Bradley's little guards had trouble with SLU's much taller guards. SLU's bigs dominated. A SLU fan told me post-game SLU outrebounded Bradley 55-24.
Kellen Thames is our Dr. J. He can really leap, which makes him a threat on Offense and a good rebounder too. Paul Otieno controlled the boards and the paint.
Comic relief was provided by 2 heckling, veteran Bradley fans, who were all over the refs, especially one fan who yelled at the refs most of the game. The refs, including veteran Ed Crenshaw, actually were fine, ok. The hecklers wanted this D-1 game reffed like it was IHSA Class A basketball. They were in the wrong arena.
