I'm doing a bit. I'm just generalizing that those supporting May are probably the "get off my lawn" anti-participation trophy crowd. But they're hypocrites in the ultimate Participation Trophy King is AD Chris May. Soft.

STONE COLD HARD FACT ALERT: Fired Power Conference Football Coaches this year with lower buy-outs than May's T-Ford contract: Oregon State, Trent Bray $4mil Arkansas, Sam Pittman $9.8mil UCLA, DeShaun Foster $5mil VA Tech, Brent Pry $6mil In one area, May's on par with or beating the big schools, wasting money.

05 ya gotta give up on convincing these "guys" they're typing responses from their couch, wearing matching pajamas with their wives, and while watching some PBS period drama. Not the crowd that won WWII.

The participation trophy crowd is coming out and bad posting and defending just showing up. That's what's wrong with this world no meritocracy, he's good because he tried hard. They must also not care about wasting money. Guess results don't matter to them. When did people get so soft that they no longer care about accountability? We should stop keeping score at games, it might hurt feelings if there are losers.

Eh maybe. It's LSU, it's the top job open right now. You can win a National Championship at LSU. I'm not sure that noise will affect a coach. The kinda people that excel at these top-flight jobs are Apex Predators, Competitors who have confidence in themselves and that they can win no matter what. Although it's a crazy carousel, UF, Penn State, LSU, Stanford, Oregon St., Colorado St., Arkansas, UAB, FAU, Oklahoma St., VA Tech there's some big time programs in there. My ranking which is completely subjective would be LSU, UF, Penn St, Arkansas, VA Tech as the top in that order. Other jobs that could open FSU, Auburn, Wisconsin. There are some dominoes that are about to fall; it's going to be interesting.

Also not sure if you've been to Louisiana, they love LSU football, drinking a lot, and crawfish. I was surprised when LSU hired Woodward. He was a joke. 1 time years ago at UW he hired Chris Peterson, yeah he had a few non-football good hires but like I wrote previously 1 F up is enough. That's how I feel at SLU, not everything is bad but there's major (and many minor) F ups that are enough, to necessitate a change. Reminds me of a story. I once met a man named Pablo. He welcomed me to his city and pointed to these beautiful houses. He said, "You see those beautiful houses? I designed them, I built them; they will last for years after I'm gone. You think they'll call me, Pablo the House Builder? No." Then he pointed to this impressive bridge, all stone with ornate ironwork. He said, "You see that bridge taking people and cars safely across the water, you think they call me Pablo the Bridge Builder? No." He then pointed to an amazing church with a bell tower and flying buttresses. He said, "You see that church? It's visited by hundreds every week. You think they call me Pablo the Church Builder? No......but you F one goat!"

The LSU AD was the A&M AD responsible for Jimbo Fisher's record breaking buyout. This is his 2nd failed football hire and buyout over $50mil. Yeah he hired Mulkey and got a baseball championship but some F ups outshine the achievements. But I agree what the Hell? Why is May still here? I was hoping he'd retire with Pestello. Dude is an albatross around the Billiken's neck.

Eye on College Basketball, 28 October podcast "best of the rest" episode had the following predictions: Parrish, A10 1st, 2nd, 3rd will be VCU, SLU, or UD in any order. Norlander, thinks UD 1st, SLU 2nd They both think VCU and SLU have the most talent. They said SLU will make the tournament. That was not well thought out speculation. They did mention the A10 is down since 2017 and will likely struggle this season but could be up in the future. They project Avila in top 100 players and possible All American. So some hype. Pressure is a privilege and expectations are earned. Gotta go out and feast on this cupcake schedule or else it's all gone really quick.

The Wiz's Preseason Review for 2025-26
TheA_Bomb replied to The Wiz's topic in Billikens.com Main Board
It's impressive that Wiz is doing this on a Commodore 64 switching floppy disks every few minutes. Imagine when he gets the quantum computing going. 25-6 = miss the dance with this schedule unless that 25th win is the A10 championship. 29-2, at large, 28-3..... I'm sweating selection Sunday. -

March Madness changes and what it means for The Bills
TheA_Bomb replied to The Wiz's topic in Billikens.com Main Board
You're onto something, this is the issue with bureaucracy they know more than us and most justify their existence by tweaking things that don't need tweaks. Also, greed for more TV $. -
March Madness changes and what it means for The Bills
TheA_Bomb replied to The Wiz's topic in Billikens.com Main Board
Interesting solution. I think Conferences own their Tourney TV rights and they will be hesitant to give them up unless they'll make more money. Not to mention the varying contract end dates that complicate a clean shift. This also makes Cinderellas less likely. I'm going all Cracker Barrel logo, leave it alone, go back to 64. It was perfect. Sweet 16, elite 8, final 4 have all become part of our American vernacular because of the memorable tournament moments. Powers that be, stop chasing dollars and undermining why we love something. -
March Madness changes and what it means for The Bills

Change it back to 64 Get rid of quad system, ease up a bit on SoS influence on the NET. They're diluting the product. Also making it harder for Cinderellas to advance to later rounds. A team can get hot and win a couple games, maybe three, in a blue moon 4, but more rounds makes that less likely for teams lacking depth.
