Zink
Hopefully French will return to form. He’s best as a low-post player, and when he and Gordon were both on the floor, French often ended up at the high-post instead. He’ll be far more efficient staying close to the basket. Hankton will get minutes and this will will help us spread the floor. If teams try to target him as a defender, I could see us playing more 1-3-1 zone with him at the point to utilize his length, while making his lack of strength matter less. Foreman needs to get back to what he was. One dribble from the free throw line and up and hard cuts to the hoop. None of the isolation dribble drive stuff that’s gotten him in trouble. Bess will step up to the plate, too. He can play more of the 4 on offense, and Thatch plus Jacobs will get more minutes. I like the idea of pressing more that some have mentioned. Let the dogs loose. Gordon was probably the most talented player on this team, but he was also a square peg. This team still has enough to compete for an A10 title though, and our offense might even improve now that we only have one ball-stopping post-player to feed touches. moytoy12
Just for reference as we head into conference play, below are the 17-18 roster and 18-19 rosters for conf play. When Goodwin played in 2017, the starting lineups are a push. The 2018 bench is deeper and better. The conference is roughly equivalent and maybe even a little down compared to last year. So, we have a better roster this year against a similar level of competition. Just trying to find some positive aspects as we head into conf play without Gordon. 2017 Starters: Goodwin*, Roby, Bess, DJ, French 2017 Bench: Hines, Johnson Anthony 2018 Starters: Goodwin, Isabell, Bess, DJ, French 2018 Bench: Thatch, Wiley, Jacobs, and Hankton, Pistol and Clocktoweraccords2004 like this

The most damaging of which happened long before yesterday (at least by definition in our modern news cycle). It has been been whispered for a while. The people that share that kind of information always attach stuff like don't let this become public. The people who get that information try to keep it in a circle they trust so they can still get the information. So it doesn't become public until someone on the inside gives the OK for it to become public. -you say all the bad stories have come in the last 24 hours but two sentences later you say it has been whispered for a while, so folks heard or were told stuff a while ago and kept it quiet until yesterday? He's turned into a legit CPOY type player. TheOne, JohnnyJumpUp and Matty Light like this

His efficiency is way up, going from an O-rating (points scored/100 possessions) of 110 to 122, and his D-rating (the equivalent, but for defense) is down to 90.2 from 100. Bess really is putting up CPOY numbers, it's not hyperbole whatsoever. Edited January 3, 2019 by Zink
