SLU was the more aggressive team and was very good pressing up top where it seemed ND just couldn't get comfortable and distribute out of the back well. Someone needs to tell SLU's defenders when you're in that big box and/or the smaller box near your goal you have to try and stay near one of your opponents players. The ND goal would have been unacceptable for a U10 team. No 17 just literally stood still and watched the guy get behind him and score on a f..king set piece. We almost gave up another as #2 just stood looking while an opponent got behind him and should have scored except for a good save by the keep. Then LOL we get behind a ND defender who's ball watching and misjudges it and we score with about 15 seconds left. Just terrible defending on all accounts you can't lose your man SLU hustles and plays hard but lack a good first touch almost across the board frequently turning what should have been good possession into a scramble for a loose ball which we seemed to win more often than not but it ends up turning a chance to attack into a layoff back. In the end you go on the road and get a tie with the 17th ranked team you can't be unhappy but this was a game we could have won. Thnx ahead of time Hard to know that but keep in mind it's where the offensive player is with relation to the defenders when the ball is initially played. It's a strategy especially for teams that try and defend and counter. Usually happens when a team is not as good.
