The MLS just wont give up(not that I dont like it) on STL getting a team.

A guy in my office meant with one of the board members  for breakfast a few weeks ago and told me this was going to come out again.   He claims theres more support and money with this movement than the first.

I have heard similar things.  I heard there is more support ,but they were hoping this didn't all come out until more of the facts were hammered out.

Billikens and Flyers draw 2-2. Certainly disappointing to only come away with a point after going up 2-0 but anytime anyone goes to Dayton in any sport it’s a tough task to win.

Well that is putting lipstick on a pig isn't it.

That was a horrible draw.

Cant close out a 2-0 lead?

Telling the lack of responses in this thread.

Glad to see we bounced back to grab a win against LaSalle.   Took a look at this year's stats versus a couple past years ( 2016 and 2015 since 2017 isn't online).  Anyway, it is interesting to see distinct difference in output versus McGinty and how the styles and player personnel have improved aspects of SLU's game  Note that we have played 10 games this year and played 17-18 in 2016 and 2015.

Total Shots  - Generating a ton of chances

2018:   169   2016:  148    2015:  182

Total Goals - On pace to exceed total goals

2018:   19   2016:  19    2015:  25

Total Points (cumulative player stats) - Plenty of players contributing this year

2018:   58   2016:  57    2015:  69

Goals/Game - Nearly 2 goals per game

2018:   1.9   2016:  1.1    2015:  1.5

Shots/Game - Ample shots per game

2018:   16.9   2016:  8.2    2015:  10.7

Total Goals Against - Need more shutouts

2018:   14   2016:  24    2015:  21

Total Shots Against - Opponents getting plenty of chances

2018:   177   2016:  242    2015:  178

Goals Against/Game - Need to shore up backline or settle on one goalie since we have used three this year

2018:   1.4   2016:  1.3    2015:  1.2

Nice stats digging! Thanks!

I wouldn't be too worried about the less than stellar defense. I follow soccer quite closely. Usually when a team is so offensive as SLU is, the defense suffers a bit. I would say that it reflects more on SLU's offensive and open style of play than "poor defense" per se. You give some space in the back in order to be at the opponents necks.
