bauman
Since we have little else to discuss at this point-we have beaten a dead horse talking about Stu and FBJT-I thought I's bring up an old topic. If we were ever going to start a new series with State U. now might be the time with a new Ath Dir. and a fairly new HC and at a time when they seem to want to focus more on STL for recruiting. Just one thing---no 2 for 1s! We are their equal if not the superior program.

JettFlight5
Are we sure that SLU shouldn't have gone to the MVC? Ok, that one was beyond stupid.
3star_recruit
I'd rather do a home and home with Butler. Better for recruiting. We don't recruit much west of St Louis but we do recruit Indiana. The talent level in Indiana's 2018 class is incredible.

Old guy
I do not think that a conductor in an Amtrak train should carry any of the blame for a derailment presumably caused because the engineer driving the locomotive apparently wanted to break the speed record for a passenger train driven over decrepit rail beds and tight inadequately banked curves (for the speed). bonwich
Um, er, although JMM28 did in fact call him a "conductor" in his post, the LinkedIn profile correctly identifies him as the engineer. And his name has been all over the news as the guy who was "driving" when the train derailed.
White Pelican
He WAS in the past a conductor. NOW, he is an engineer and is reported to have been at the controls of the crashed train.

Old guy
If this was the engineer of the derailed train, he is likely the responsible person for this tragedy.
