Bay Area Billiken
This play by play guy can't seem to figure out #3 is Yacoubou and #4 is Yarbrough.

JettFlight5
JC brings in the walk-ons. Why not? We haven't been able to explain anything else today.

JettFlight5
Grant Hollander gets the last basket of the game. 43-61 UD.

Dwayne's_World
I think Crews did a really bad job with subs in this game. We had a good thing going early in the second and then it just fell apart.
Bizziken
I really like Crews. I think he's a pretty good coach. He did not do a good job today.
brianstl
I think Crews did a really bad job with subs in this game. We had a good thing going early in the second and then it just fell apart. We were hot from the 3. Can't expect that to continue. No game plan to exploit the one advantage we had in this game.
Bay Area Billiken
JC brings in the walk-ons. Why not? We haven't been able to explain anything else today. This has to be among the strangest games I have seen SLU play in years. I agree with the above, despite the 16 point deficit, this game could have been won. SLU shot 5-15, 33% at the free throws. That's about what my 8th Graders shot in the CYO B League. SLU was 17-46 from the floor, 37%; 6-17 on 3's, 35.3%. SLU was outrebounded 36-31 by a team playing only 7 players, none taller than 6'6". SLU had 15 turnovers, to UD's 12. SLU had only 9 assists, thus a poor assist-turnover ratio. But those free throws, ... there is just no excuse for college players shooting 33% at the free throw line, none, nada.
Billikenboy
If we had hit those free throws we could have been in it at the end. Terrible game for MY all the way around. We need more players to step up.
Basketbill
We do not have the talent to exploit the height advantage. AG is a year away, and BJ is foul-a-matic.....TL and RA have were not going to exploit anything. I wonder if AY, MB, MY, MC and DR might have been the best line-up for this game.... Billikenboy
What lineup...5 guys cannot win a game like this. We just did not play well enough to win. On to the next one!
JettFlight5
Just a really odd game all the way around, but it was winnable. Too many missed FTs and layups on offense.
Bizziken
I want to see Gillmann at the 4 paired with Manning. It would take some of the rebounding pressure off of him.

Bizziken
With MY at the 3, that could be interesting. Exactly. I dislike Gillmann at the Center position at this point. Yarbrough and Manning could take care of the rebounding
Dwayne's_World
VCU game should be fun I thought Bartley handled the ball really well. He will most certainly be challenged, but it will be a good learning experience for the guards. I'm mainly disappointed because despite the poor shooting, the lineup combinations just didn't seem effective today. That's on the coaching staff. TheChosenOne
We gave them a horrible shooting performance, that's why they win today. If we shot average we would probably be tied Alternatively, if Dayton made a decent % of their open 3s it would have been a blowout early. HoosierPal
The freshmen need to learn how to defend and not foul. Standing and grabbing doesn't work at D1. Roby is the only one who knows how to move his feet.

Roby is the only one who knows how to move his feet. Agreed. And rotational defense is still a mystery to most of our guys. I'm also sick of Jolly looking surprised and skeptical that the refs called a foul on him. He fouls more than anybody
Scoop
I would have liked to seen Bartley, Roby, Milik, Gillman, and Manning on the floor together.
