Taj79
Despite sitting out under a three-year show cause penalty, the Mighty Pearl gets right back into things by now snaring former Twerp recruit Trayvon Reed ..... http://espn.go.com/mens-college-basketball/story/_/id/11426156/trayvon-reed-commits-auburn Maryland refused admittance based on the arrest for stealing a candy bar on Route 1 near campus. Of course, he also ran and when caught resisted arrest. I also like the "loose" ends here ....one where he says he was "under the influence" and two where he says he needsone more high school credit to get accepted into Auburn. AUBURN? How come he was already accepted at Maryland and was on-campus for summer stuff? Maybe he was completing that one credit there. Oh well,Uncle Brucie is back! TheA_Bomb
Pearl's show for cause was predicated on a very weak violation when you actually look into it. The man is a master of energizing the fan base and recruiting. He'll have Auburn dancing deep in the tourney in no time.

If he had told the truth when confronted he would have gotten a slap on the wrist.
thetorch
At the time I thought the NCAA was finally going to start handing out real punishments which would spur on a change in recruiting tactics by coaches but Pearl was for some reason just singled out. His penalty compared to what others have received recently is totally out of whack. Left to his own devices Pearl will be very successful and will continue to cheat.
