For-DaLove
Yessir! This almost certainly means we'll be ranked in the coaches poll as well since we received more votes in it last week.

slu72
Holy Cow! 17 years is a very long time. And to Jimbo, it's time for a really big shout out of, HATE. Puhleeze, Billikens, stay focused on Tues nite and come home 7-0. We like seeing our name in the polls and on the ESPN ticker every nite, instead of having to wait for them to go thru the conference thing. Anyone see that Carleton's not rated. slu72
And one of only 4 non BCS'ers in there. Unreal.
JMM28
And one of only 4 non BCS'ers in there. Unreal. A big thank you to Dr. Chaifetz for footing the bill for not only the arena, but Rick Majerus. Seems the investment is starting to pay dividends. For-DaLove
Impressive!!!! If this continues it will be a ***** to schedule quality opponents, which is a good thing!Maybe. But if we sustain this kind of success scheduling big name opponents will get a lot easier.
kshoe
Maybe. But if we sustain this kind of success scheduling big name opponents will get a lot easier. Scheduling big name BCS opponents (absent a player homecoming type game) is all about being able to give them one of two things: 1) national t.v. exposure or 2) a home game that their fans will get excited about. Historically, we've offered neither. These things don't happen overnight but certainly the longer we are ranked and the deeper we go in March, the better our odds get next year. Even Xavier's schedule, which is awesome, is the result of multiple years of big-time rankings and deep NCAA runs.

If the program gets to the level we hope it will over the next few years scheduling will get easier.

billikenbill
Congrats to the Bills! Can we get a rematch with Carleton now? Would like to see how we stack up with the Duke of Canada. We owe those guys.

The only year they're good they don't play in DC. But, I'd rather have them be good than losing big time here in person.

jbizzle09
This is absolutely great news for the program. Just need to make sure to take care of business at LMU tomorrow. More encouraging is that we have depth on this team for years forward, as we are only losing BC and KC after this season! Hopefully we can see multiple years of being in the Top 25 and deep NCAA runs!

Prairie Bill
It's official - ESPN just posted. http://espn.go.com/mens-college-basketball/rankings. I think the opposite will happen. Yes, good teams want and need to play other good teams. Duke is not afraid to play here; at this point we can only hope to play there!
