Matt Roth video

is nothing to joke about, from all over, off screens, off the dribble, etc.

It's easy to forget that you're not watching a highlight video, just one game.

Also, I HATE the long intros for videos like these... that was TWENTY-EIGHT seconds before we saw any basketball.

Maguire is a specialist. Roth can do other things. There is nothing wrong with being a specialist, but Dustin was never a high major prospect, Roth definitely is.

He was named MVP at the Adidas Super 64 in Las Vegas last summer. Its arguable one of the top 5 tourneys in the country.

Thanks for the links Vtime. Get a better idea on what the kid brings to the table. But saying he can do other things isnt quite true from the articles. Sounds like a 3 point specialist to me, but thats not a bad thing especially in a motion type offense.

What is the difference? I see from a 2 minute clip a kid who needs good teammates to get him the ball. He's shooting over guys who are smaller than him. The speed (and size) is a huge difference for these shooters once they get to college both offensively and defensively. Every college needs 3pt shooters but I'd like to RamJam's offense to see where another set shooter would fit in.

Looks like Dustin except for the fact that his start point looks much smoother and his release is probably much quicker than Dustin's. BTW...Dustin tinkered with the initial setup of his shot last season which might have been the reason for so much inaccuracy when he did shoot.

That's obviously his strength. All this time I've heard about how Illinois has better prospects than Missouri and this kid is 1st team All-State in Illinois as a junior and people all of a sudden think he isn't that good. Maybe I'm crazy.

Kid needs to get his priorities straight... If I hit 7 threes as the team's manager, I'm hittin' the boats real hard before my luck runs out. Don't get me wrong, the odds are against you at the casino, and eventually you'll lose, but you lose at K-mart the second you walk in the door.

Shoulda gone to the Eastside® while he was hotter than a http://www.cyberium.net/imagine/S/weapons/...al-pistol-2.jpg

I am not sure how you can write this kid off as a Maguire clone based on a 2 minute clip that shows him knocking down 8 three pointers. Why not say he looks like a Lee Humphrey or Drew Neitzel clone? This is all I have seen of the kid but from what I have heard this is definitely a kid who is worth a look. I am not going to draw too much of an opinion on him based on a clip on the Internet and I definitely think it is ridiculous to say he is nothing more than Maguire based on this clip. The kid is obviously a shooter, but that does not mean he will never surpass Dustin who I don't think I ever saw even draw iron. Having a guy who can knock down open 3's and can catch fire from outside is huge, just ask Donovan or Izzo.

You can't build a successful program with 11 guys who are three-point specialists (although some Ivy league programs have tried to do so). However, one or two guys like this are absolutely perfect talents to go with the Liddell's, Thompson's, and Sugg's of the world.

If you could land Thompson, Perry, Suggs, and Kwamain, then this kid would be the perfect guy to round out the class.

If we landed this kid and all the other players mentioned above. We pretty much turn into florida.

From the few clips I saw of DM in high school, I think this kid looks quicker from this one clip. He's got a smooth shot and a quick release. I'm going with V and saying we got to look at this kid. I would like to see more clips of him if they exist. Maybe it was mentioned - how tall is he?

Also, if I remember right DM played out of position most of his time in HS. This kid looks to be playing in the right position. I'm agree that he could round out a nice recruiting class.
