I totally forgot that they actually DID host a conference tournament in Delaware!
Gotta love our little Great Value brand version of the ACC.

New year, same few people who only post after a less than desired game result. Last year when you did the same thing, the team went on to go undefeated in 11 of the their next 12 games, including in the NCAA Tourney.

And here you are yet again. For someone that doesn’t like soccer, you sure can’t stay away. Soccer school. Same time next year?

I was forced to stay overnight in Salina while driving back from a ski trip in Colorado.  Our hotel room had a nice view of the Salina water tower, which I snapped a picture of for posterity.  My wife looked at me like I had two heads, which is not an uncommon occurrence in our relationship.  I will say that everyone we encountered there was super friendly - props to Salina!

It will be fun to see the people who run Cal and those that run Standford have to "lower" themselves to the Mountain West and the schools that are in that conference they thought didn't measure up to the PAC standards.  They are going to have to be rescued by some schools that they blocked from being considered for the conference in earlier rounds of the conference shuffle.

-as I see it SLU Athletics operates on a need to know basis and on many issues their behavior shows that we the fans don't need to know

As long as we've been at Chaifetz I've always had to make a mandatory Billiken Club donation.   I think the amount is based on the total bill for your seats.
Obviously it's not enough to maintain my club standing as every year I fall further down the rankings
But until the school fires stormy, krafty and pesty I will never VOLUNTARILY donate to SLU ever again.

Some, but not like basketball of football, a lot of it is more in line with what NIL is supposed to be, advertising promoting a product.  Earlier this year, for example, Chris May said in an interview that one of our women’s soccer players had her picture on a billboard in Union, MO promoting a bank I think. There was also an article I read about some North Carolina women’s field hockey player who was getting a ton of money, but it was all from manufacturers of field hockey equipment getting her to promote their gear.

    why not?
if we really had difference maker boosters or the BoT had some guts, they would use a that incredible endowment that is unrestricted and go buy the team, the coach, everything needed to be a top program.   if it is unrestricted, they can do whatever they want as long as it makes Saint Louis University better.   a great sports program will pay for itself in no time with increased booster donations, increased enrollment, etc.   look at georgetown before patrick ewing came to campus even though he obviously didnt qualify academically (as an they had to let him take exams privately untimed).
we really dont need a great recruiter any more with this b.s. NiL nonsense.   we need bucks and willing to spend those bucks.

Torch is right - at the very least it was weird to cut the video right before our guy does the drill
  13. BilliesBy40 liked a post in a topic by thetorch in Tatum & Beal
Yesterday a tweet was made by a SLU Grad Asst on Ford's staff showing Jayson Tatum and Brad Beal performing drills at Simon Rec.  Goodwin was also there but noticeably not featured in the video.  The SLU grad asst typed in the location as  Saint Louis University.
Let me know if you think I'm entirely off base on this but...
Why are SLU staffers repping for NBA players who didn't play for SLU.  Why is it a big deal they are working out on our campus.  As a matter of fact why are they are on our campus?
Because they are St. Louis guys?  They aren't Saint Louis guys though.  This isn't the first time our current staff has used Tatum and Beal in our social media.  Why are they doing this?  This is a bad look for our school and program.  Neither of these guys wanted to come to SLU and play.  They are all about STL, but never Saint Louis University.
For instance do you think Kyrie Irving works out at Rutgers and the staff there boasts about his presence?  He grew up a few miles from there?  Do you think Derrick Rose works out at DePaul when he goes home to Chicago and the Depaul staff is excited about his visit?  Kevin Durant grew up in Washington DC, just blocks from Georgetown.  You think the coaching staff there has Kevin Durant working out there?
I don't really have a problem with them using the campus, but why is the staff hyping up some connection with them?  It seems really bush league.
What does Tatum do for SLU?  Nothing.
What does Beal do for SLU?  Nothing.  Beal runs the preeminent AAU team in STL.  Is he sending kids SLU's way. No.  Is he even helping St. Louis kids that much?  Check out the rosters of BBE Elite the last few years.  Always featuring kids from outside the area.  The old St. Louis Eagles would maybe take one guy a year from outside STL.  The past couple years most of BBEs roster have been from other states.  There are several area programs who are pushing STL kids only and playing at just as a high a level as BBE.  What are our connections there doing?  Can we get an out of state 5 star that Beal recruits to come play for SLU?  No way.  Again Beal does nothing for the program.  He has no obligation to do so either.  Frankly its in his best interests probably not to but why is the staff so star struck with his presence here.
The bigger part of the insult is we have a real NBA player in Jordan Goodwin from our program.  Developed at SLU.  If we want to promote our NBA connections he should be front and center.  Not Beal and Tatum.  Who cares about them.  Beal has no connection to SLU whatsoever.  Tatum does but it didn't help when we were recruiting him.  Tatum gets treated like he actually played here.  Its silly.
I'm not saying bar them from campus.  Ford has always said he wants St. Louis University to be the destination for St. Louis basketball.  Repping guys who didn't come to play here is not the way to go.  We want St. Louis, actually we need St. Louis kids to play for SLU, not go to Duke and play pickup games here in the offseason.

Torch, please erase Jahidi from your post! Jahidi is the man and his twin boys with scholarship offers as soon to be sophomores are similarly great! Chaminade guys have to stick together (obviously Jahidi was not, but the twins are).
I like that it feels like some folks on here have had some drinks, makes for lively discussion. As my wife’s favorite uncle says (and he is 70+ still living that life in FL), drunk talk don’t count.

I think we should play all our non conference games against Paul Quinn type teams so that we can go into A10 play with like a 10-3 record so it's easier to get 20 wins

So stupid. I think if they polled season ticket holders, 95%+ of us would happily give up a game vs Paul Quinn in exchange for a good road game, and still pay the same for the season ticket.  Maybe I’m wrong though.

Where were you during the four years he played?  Not watching, for sure.
Which one trick are you referring to?
#24 All Time Billiken Scorer with 1178 points
#5 All Time Billiken Rebounder with 982
#1 All Time Billiken Blocks with 228
We need a 'French' manning the post every single year.

Jordan is the perfect guy to have this type of success happen to from SLU's perspective.  He is a local kid who trusted our program with his future.  He spent all of his eligibility at SLU battling like a warrior every minute of every game.  Now he's earned his way into a great spot on a top team in the NBA.  Ford should be hyping Jordan's story when talking to recruits much more so than talking about Marcus Smart.

Michigan, West Virginia and North Texas kicking the tires now.  Memphis also back in.
This is embarrassing for Ford and staff. Getting led on by a recruit who's not that great to begin with. All these other schools are offering him at best backup minutes, while SLU would let him play 40 every night.  This reminds me of Soderberg's recruiting style.

Like most teams Tulsa switched defenses a lot but their base is man to man as is 99% of college ball.
Game film, stats, advanced anylytics, scouting reports are all available on Dalger.  A simple google search will tell you he's a bad defender.  Why don't you watch the multitudes of tape available on Dalger.

Hard to put a poster on ignore when they have 3+ accounts and a VPN fired up in mom’s basement.

BBF has offered nothing to this board except harassment to other posters this entire offseason. Not sure why he’s still here.
