Right, we're an enigma w/in an enigma. I think we're going to be surprised by these last two scholies. Names out of nowhere. A foreigner possibly? An unknown JUCO? A hidden gem from the playgrounds of Chicago or New York? Only the shadow knows, and I'm not the shadow.

Based on posts from The Wiz and DoctorB I think the same thing you are thinking.  I believe we are going to be pleasantly surprised.  The week coach Crews said he was expecting to sign two players he stated that if a player told him he would sign he believed his would keep their word.  If the player who did not sign was RO, Crews may have moved on shortly after RO decided not to sign.  DoctorB seems to have information most of us don't have and hints at things and the Wiz hardly ever comments on prospective recruits, but he did this last time.

Maybe I am too dense, but this statement confused me. Seems like you're insinuating there are NO further offers out to the class of 2013....

Anyone else read it that way?

Maybe he's talking about RO.

I'm also flabbergasted by the knocks on Sloan and Meyer. Both were very solid 4-year players. Excellent defenders, hard workers, smart guys. Never got hurt, always played hard. Sloan was very athletic, as Channing Frye could remind you. Meyer never developed into the scorer I thought he could be - his 3-point shot never materialized - but he, along with Sloan, are both on my all-time SLU Stat Sheet team- guys who don't jump off the paper but who would be serious assets on any roster.

Go back and watch game tape if you don't believe me.

I think Crawford has the potential to be a better scorer than either but if he's as good all-around as either, I'll be very, very pleased to have him.

I don't think we are knocking them.  They were good players but we need players who can do the same things they did and more if we want to continue to compete at a MUCH higher level, especially if we will be a part of the New Big East.  We NEED forwards who can rebound better and possibly score more.  They were good role players. imo

+1 If he is Meyer or Sloan, that would be disappoinnting considering how far I think this program has progressed. I know we have to compare white guys to other white guys, but why can't Crawford be closer to Scott Highmark than Chris Sloan?

I would be very satisfied if he is anywhere near as good as Highmark; and he probably is.

3 good 4 yr players. Unless you're thinking RA is a one and done. I think MC's gonna be a good one; hard worker, can shoot, and rebound. All around solid player in the vein of Meyer and Sloan.

If he's no better than Meyer or Sloan he will never be a starter.  I think he is and will be a much better scorer than either of them.  As tough as they were they would have a hard time getting much playing time on this team. imo  They were offensively challenged at the college level.  I think Crawford will average double figures in SLU's system.
