billikenfan05
Tonight, the Hawk will die! Let's go Bills! Apparently their best scorer is a dude named Ron Roberts and he comes off the bench. He's a 6'8 wing?
prebilliken
Kill the Hawk! According to the stats I saw Roberts is averaging all of 11 PPG... That's nice off the bench but nothing crazy. We're going bird huntin' tonight!
prebilliken
The SJU board has a topic called "The Profession of Faith" which is nothing but every single member posting, "The Hawk will never die!" That's sooooo lame. http://hawkhoopclub.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=8266
Pistol
The hawk travels with the team. I've never understood why we allow him to just stand there and flap like an idiot. Why doesn't the Billiken mix it up a little and grab his arms?
Westy03
If you anyone wants to watch the game a few of us are going up to field house. Macarthyirish made them set the TVs for channel 11 at 7:
Billiken Rich
The hawk travels with the team. I've never understood why we allow him to just stand there and flap like an idiot. Why doesn't the Billiken mix it up a little and grab his arms? It's been done though not by the Billiken. Frankly any bighead mascot would be at a disadvantage against the hawk The thing is though, when a mascot looks so pathetic, it's probably best to just let it sit there drawing derision on itself. I swear that my grandmother had a couch cover made of the same material as the hawksuit......
Cowboy
-i like the hawk and the tradition that goes with it -of course everyone who has been the hawk probably has either had shoulder surgery or has massive arthritis

Why doesn't the Billiken mix it up a little and grab his arms? A mascot at one school (I think it might have been Rhode Island) a few years ago threw an innertube over the Hawk's wings, but he somehow managed to keep flapping and get out of the tube. I would guess that after all these years, people have given up on truing to keep the Hawk from flapping. He is unflappable. You'll notice that during the national anthem, he puts his right wing over his heart and continues flapping with the left.
