These are teams that definitely turned down the CBI (I am sure many others did too). The CBI took some really bad no name teams. Several may have turned down the NIT as they had a good RPI. 66. St. Francis Brooklyn was in the NIT last year so that is why I am surprised they fell so fast with a system that uses the year before as an anchor.

Right now I am using about 30% real data for this year. 70% is a forecasting model of which last year is one of several factors. Is St. Fran an F+ team? They are today but it will be more meaningful in 5 more games..

Absolutely, he'd of schooled the Cougars with his crafty post moves and ability to finish. During the recruiting phase, it looked like Neufeld was the man and Welmer the afterthought. I wasn't crazy about what I saw from Neufeld on his vids but figured the prep school year would make a big difference. So far I see no difference. Welmer on the other hand benefitted greatly from his prep year and really increased his skill level. Very disappointed we won't have the chance to see what he could bring this year.

he's out for the whole year?

As for my prior post, I totally agreed with the Wiz that both the rankings and the letter scales used are loose in the beginning of the season but after the results of actual play roll in they become increasingly accurate. No need to get upset about this, we are doing OK so far. Neither St. Francis nor us will have the same ranking or letter grade throughout all the season.

It wasn't pretty but the Bills did what they needed to do.....only backwards. In a normal game, the Bills would have gotten off to an early lead and finished at the half up about 8. Then moving into the 2nd half continuing to build on the lead finishing the game out by a margin of 16 or 17. In this case they let the Terriers hang around the whole game with SLU building the lead in the final few minutes.

In the end the slash line came in on target...could have made a couple of more free throws. but even there, if you cut out 1 player's FTs, the Bills shoot 75% which is decent as a team. In fact most of the stats came in on target. So on paper this game looked like a normal game.

3-0 is still 3-0....The Bills need to build on this now and step things up a notch....for the real season begins Tues.

If you were the coach at St. Francis how would you have handled this game with SLU last night Wiz? The way they did it was by double teaming our top scorers (Crawford and Yacoubou), playing a very physical game, and emphasizing 3 pt. shooting. I would say that we were not really ready for this early on in the game, worse for us my feeling is that the SLU players entered the game in a very overconfident state and were surprised by St. Francis. Be what it may we managed which is what a good team is supposed to do, and they fell apart in the last few minutes of the game (most of our point margin of winning was made at the end), which is what bad teams do (and we did just that last year).

As an example of what I am talking about North Florida played a great first half in their recent game against Louisville, only to be butchered by Louisville in the second half.

I am glad we are moving forward, and assume our B- standing has become firmer after last night's game. By the way Teamranking for the first time is giving SLU a minor advantage over North Florida for Tuesday's game. I think this is positive.
