Old guy
Yes, lots of questions, no answers yet.
Taj79
I think it is a great article and very good summation. If we had lost another game, my 22nd question would be why didn't Yacoubou see the court in the Bahamas much?
cheeseman
Thanks for sharing. I am still very perplexed how a walk on can be the starting pg. To me this shows a real failure of the coaching staff to recruit or even evaluate talent based on what a team needs. Yes I know the guy at WSU was a walk on but he had a very good reputation in high school and only landed there because KU did not over him and WSU was out of schollies if I remember the story correctly. I'll believe Hines is in the mix for starting point guard when I see it. Good athlete but he struggled to score in juco and I think he'll struggle even more at this level. Old guy
If attitude and desire were the most important factors involved Hines would have no problems, unfortunately this is not the case.
VeniceMenace
Yeah, but Hines is a JUCO...when we got JUCOs Taddisak and Ivester, JUCO hoops scout Rick Ball called them, respectively, the "meat and potatoes" of that years recruiting class. Which means Hines is the Catsup.
Billikenboy
There is major talent in the juco ranks and I believe Hines will be a contributor this season. He may just be the thing to solidify the guard position.
Old guy
Do not get me wrong, I like and respect Hines. He has really tried hard to get where he is now and I do not think he is about to let this opportunity drop from his grasp. I think he will give 150% or more when called to do so. I will be very happy to see him doing well and contributing to the team's efforts. It is not in his attitude, hard work or desire that he will be found lacking. We just need to see how he plays in actual play.
David King
Which means Hines is the Catsup. What in the H-E-double hockey sticks is that supposed to mean!!??
VeniceMenace
David King, perhaps if you would have been advanced enough to get a JUCO education, you would know what it means.
bonwich
He probably also has no idea why Hines will certainly wear #57 on his uni.
Billiken Rich
He probably also has no idea why Hines will certainly wear #57 on his uni. He's also the Secretary of State's favorite player........
