Setting the Scene: Saint Louis hosts Harris-Stowe Tuesday in its lone exhibition tilt of the 2014-15 season. Game time at Chaifetz Arena is scheduled for 7 p.m.

About Harris-Stowe: Harris-Stowe State University is located across Compton Ave. from Chaifetz Arena. The Hornets play in the NAIA. Last Saturday, they dropped a 72-67 decision to the University of Saint Francis. In that game, guard/forward Trevor Roberts scored a team-high 22 points. Harris-Stowe head coach Phillip Hunt is in his sixth season. Hunt played for the Bills from 2000-04. A fan favorite, Hunt is widely remembered for his buzzer-beating tip-in that sent the game into overtime against Houston in 2004. The Billikens went on to win that game 72-69.

A special five-game pack is available for $99 per ticket and includes games against Southern Illinois, Rhode Island, VCU, UMass and La Salle.

  • The Billikens have captured three Atlantic 10 Conference titles the last two years. They were the A-10 regular-season and tournament champions in 2012-13, and last year they took home the league regular-season crown.
  • Saint Louis has advanced to the NCAA Tournament the last three years, a school record. Additionally, the Billikens are one of 10 programs in the nation that have advanced to the third round of the NCAA Tournament in each of the last three seasons.
  • After graduating a group of five seniors – the winningest class in school history – Saint Louis welcomes six freshmen into the fray.
  • Saint Louis was 11-1 in road games last season. That was the second-best road mark in the NCAA last year, trailing only undefeated Wichita State.
  • Saint Louis climbed as high as No. 8 in the national polls last season. The Billikens were No. 25 in both the USA Today coaches’ and AP Top 25 final polls. SLU was No. 24 in the final NCAA RPI.

  • Junior guard Austin McBroom is the team’s top returning scorer after averaging 7.3 ppg a season ago. Senior forward Grandy Glaze is the team’s top returning rebounder with 4.5 rpg. Junior guard Ash Yacoubou begins his two years of eligibility this year after sitting out last season following his transfer from Villanova.
  • Billiken head coach Jim Crews is in his third season at the helm. The back-to-back A-10 Coach of the Year is 55-14 in two seasons at Saint Louis, 409-362 in 26 years overall.
