SLU_Nick
Garland is completely taking over. He is street ball...but it is some good looking street ball
majerus mojo
Leaning towards taking the Explorers over K-State.. Weber has been brutal in the dance of late, and screw them for taking our 4-seed in KC.
bomble
Will La Salle be good next year? I think they have a chance to be a very good team in the A10. Lots of variables.

MusicCityBilliken
up by 8 over former WAC er's Boise State at halftime Boise is in the Mountain West. Same as New Mexico, UNLV & San Diego. Watched the game and Boise was really never in it. LaSalle seemed to always keep a 10 pt cushion. Garland really looked good, unlike he did with us 10 days ago. My hat is off to the good Dr John, I know he gets a little animated on the bench but he got in the hard way. By winning during the season and not get lucky in a few games in a year end conference tourney. Like St Bona last year. They probably play in the worst gym in the A10 (at least Fordham is quaint) and the school is like the Green Zone in Baghdad.
Taj79
La Salle should be okay next year. They will have an all A10 point guard returning in Tyreek Duren. Sam Mills is a pretty good defender and role player. He was like 5-of-5 in threes almost at one point last night. Garland cannot shoot the jumper right now but is quick to the basket, has great mid-air body control, and finishes on layups. Kind of Jett-ish in many ways. I've liked Jerrelle Wright since the day I saw him play us at Gola two seasons ago. He's a keeper. I think Steve Zack-rhymes-with-Hack is a useless, near-seven-footer but he might get better. DJ Peterson sucks. The bench is weak and non-existent beyond Garland. Gianinni has served as a landing place for Philadelphia's disgruntled youth to come home to. Galloway from South Carolina. Garland from Va Tech. Earl Pettis from Rutgers. Without continued imports, he will whither and die on the vine. La Salle's campus and facilties might areguably be the worst in the conference. With that returning nucleus, they are an immediate top four pick for next year.
MusicCityBilliken
With that returning nucleus, they are an immediate top four pick for next year. With a lot of the elite programs gone, I think next year it is VCU, LaS and us. I have to second about LaSalle's so called amenities, it stinks. You would think a place like Dayton with the big fan base, largest arena in the conference that is always is filled, nice tradition, plenty of $ pumped into the athletic dept., etc.., they should always be at the top of the conference and a regular annual participant in the NCAA (along the lines of a Temple). The years we been with them in both the A10 and the GMW, a mediocre year would have been a good year for them, Go figure..

With that returning nucleus, they are an immediate top four pick for next year. Pretty much agree with this, however I think you're being too hard on Steve Zack. He has improved dramatically since his freshman season (total nonfactor), and while he's certainly not a world beater, he is going to be a very serviceable big man for LaSalle. Peterson shoots 40% from 3 and will see an increased role next year...perhaps as their primary sharpshooter (Plus, I've met him and he's a really nice dude). Garland has moments where he shoots pretty well. I've seen him knock down plenty of mid-range jumpers at times. Consistency and playing within a team context will be his greatest challenge. As for the A-10 next year, St. Joes (on paper) should be fairly decent too...but given the turd they laid this year I'm not so sure... Lasalle woukd get up by 15 or so and Id think Boise is about to get run out of the gym. Then Boise would cut the lead in half but Lasalle would.follow that up with another run and te process repeates throughout the game.
moytoy12
La Salle was shooting at a ridiculous clip last night. Any other night, Boise probably wins with the way they played.

The second half, they couldn't miss! Shame for Boise St. as they were shooting well themselves.
Taj79
@bizz --okay, noted on Zack. Garland is lightning quick -- my jury is still out on the jump shooting (plus, he seems to "push" his shot much like Galloway -- but you have to respect the blow by/crossover dribble with that kid). Petersen strikes me like the Williamson kid that was at St. Joe's a few years ago -- defensive specialist rarely shooting. Time will tell. Top fou rnext year: VCU, us, La Salle and St. Joe's. Once agin, St. Joe's has nopoint guard and is countignon a redshirt freshman who sat out this year after a third kneee issue. Not good, not good.
