Edit: The Dallas firm has been talking to C. Martin. Frank said he would take it in a heartbeat. Wants RM to think about bringing him on as an assistant.

3. When Bob speculated that there may be serious problems if there isn't a press conference within 36 hrs, Frank got a call about 2 min later off the air from a source very close to Majerus. According to Frank the source said "I don't know what you're worried about."

Head coach in the even that Majerus doesn't work out. He is our Plan B. Frank was saying that he should come on as an assistant. But Rammer thinks he would stay at Purdue in that case.

Frank and Bob are on the SLU payroll and tight with the university. I wouldn't be surprised if they were asked to downplay McKernan's announcement until the university was ready to offically announce. SLU can't be happy with radio stations, message boards, and blogs announcing before they do.

I feel for a guy like Jamal. He left his old job to come here. Has only been here one year. Reportedly he was doing some good work in recruiting. And he's one of our own...an ex-player. I hate getting rid of one of our own.

I was trying to find who he had on staff at Utah but was unsuccessful. Like Frank and Bob said earlier, one has to assume he has a nice pipeline of guys he'd like to bring on board.

Don't know if there would be any pressure to hire local, but Bonner would be great with his SLU/NBA/EuropeBB history. Local recruiting would be enhanced NOW, and AB might prove to be a great successor to whoever (I'm done holding my breath) the next head coach is.
