Great city. Met some great people. My now wife moved up for the last half of my time and had a great job there. Thought seriously about staying for the long term but the homeland was calling the both us. Very affordable. A lot of fun things to do. The CWS was my favorite week of the year--highly recommend to everyone. I love Hermann but Morrison has to be the coolest in the NCAA. Its been a while since I've been back but unless anything has drastically changed their facilities are pretty much on par with ours (barring the soccer stadium and baseball stadium) and they've been BEast for 10 years.

No, I agree. I think he is good and will be a contributor. Seems to have a good head on his shoulders, too. Creighton is stacked and will be stacked for the foreseeable future. And there are rumors, theres a world where their 1 and 2 both return next year. Really happy to have him here.

Welcome Josiah! Best NE player his recruiting class on a very good HS team. I follow Creighton closely (med alum). His family is very involved in serving the Omaha community and brother played there. Surprised he transferred given his ties, but I think he saw playing time limited. They have the best BEast recruiting class/one of the best in the country and will be active in the transfer portal. I think he will fit in just fine here!

Josh Schertz hires first Assistant Coach

I hope he keeps Tate on. He's so important for the STL connection from a recruiting standpoint. I truly don't think they would post him in the video if he was not retained. -

I loved Fr Stark. It sounded as if he had the voice of God. But mostly it was because he came to my local parish to help say the funeral mass of my father who passed when I was at SLU. I will never forget that. -

Chris May in the Frank's radio show mentioned an anecdote about a young fan seeing Schertz at Lesters yesterday.. the young fan was "a huge fan of maybe one of his former players" He quickly tried to correct himself. Larry Blurred anyone?? -

As @Old guysaid a lot of people don't know much about it and I never stated it was end of his career, he just needs a period of trial and error to see what works in terms of diet, fluids, warm up routine, etc and hopefully he will be back a new. He is already feeling better which is a GREAT positive. On a side note, I tend not to post about medical stuff as I am not an internist nor an orthopedist and 18-22 year old athletes tend not to be treated in my field but I have done a little research on MM in the past and had given a review presentation for an institutional conference about 4 years ago so I thought I'd share a little added info.

As old guy pointed out, yes these diseases are rare and have an odd mode of genetic transmission. Mitochondria have their own unique DNA and it is only inherited from the mother. But it gets complicated because each cell contains thousands of mitochondria which all have different small variations in their genetic code and based upon how these thousand mitochondria are partitioned during initial stages of development (when cells rapidly grow and split), the percentage of diseased mitochondria can be different from mother to child and indeed from cell to cell in the body. This mitochondrial specific DNA is small and only codes for a subset of proteins used in generating energy in muscles and handling oxidative stress so any mutations would cause issue with that i.e. cramping, pain, lactic acidosis/electrolyte abnormalities. To add to Old guy, an important factor of the severity of disease is also the proportion of diseased mitochondria. Due to the relative rareness and specific mtDNA tests needed, it is understandable why it was stated that tests were going to come back within a week or 10 days. At the moment, the best course will be probably to go slow with Fred. Try to work on his routine and do a lot of trial and error (slowly) to see what will work best for him. Regardless of the medical stuff, I echo whats already been said: I wish him all of the best and my prayers.

It's been going on for 40 something straight years which is probably the only reason it still continues. Creighton has won 8 out of last 9.

Great post. It's a shame what has all transpired--regardless of how talented or good at basketball he is.

Yes you are right and I personally love seeing an A10 team destroy Nebraska being a current transplant in the "cornhusker" state.

I mean, Nebraska is awful--bottom of B10.. Lost UC Riverside and Southern Utah already. But its looking like to be a blow out now
