In my four years as a student, we didn't ever have a problem getting scoring late. We had Larry Hughes, Justin Love, Justin Love, and Mo Jeffers in those 4 years that would handle that roll. If anything, our closing problems then amounted to getting stops.

But it does seem to be an issue getting late points ever since Jett graduated.

Or maybe since Perk got injured.

Absolutely correct. The stats predictions made at this stage in the season come from last year. They are, of course, not correct because (at least in the case of tonight's game) they come from two teams that have very few returning players. Tonight could (not should or will) turn out to go in any number of directions, and the current stats available for the two competing teams are significant only because there is no way either of the two teams will manage to play the exact same way they were playing last year. You really cannot say much about transfers to a new team, this is most accurate if some of the transfers were not playing in a D1 team last year, or if they are foreigners, or if they spent a good portion of last season sitting on the bench. There are just too many unknowns involved in this game, the stats available do not help at all. We will see what happens tonight. One of the few constants for both teams (assuming Southern Indians did not change coaches since last year) are the coaches, which will most likely settle down for the season and play their teams like they always do.

In other words, anything could happen - let’s see if it will.

the little i have grasped about this BVF tells me it is nothing more than a way to pacify the botton 3/4 of the roster and the whales will take care of the rest.  there is no negotiation, it is a take it and like it. proposition.

this whole "system' is out of control.   there is no way this will work out to the billikens benefit and all the rules are designed for the big boy schools to dominate and the rest of us will get nothing and like it.  what a titanic disaster awaits from my view.

Did you say we'll get nothing and like it? That's my line, harrumph. (I'll give you asthma.)

Your guess is probably as good as anyone’s at this point. Far too many new players to say, both at SLU and in the conference at large to do anything but guess as far as I can tell.  They could (a) win the A10, (b) they could come in somewhere between 13-15, or (c) somewhere in between those two. I honestly don’t know whether to pick a, b or c.  I’ll read other people’s opinions, but I don’t know if anyone really knows with any great certainty.

I guess that's why no one has started the traditional season record prediction thread.

He might not fully understand what he's getting himself into. I'm sure he was told all sorts of things by the AD to sell the position, but probably has no idea what kind of stuff transpired this past year that led to the position being open in the first place. Hopefully someone in the know can get him up to speed, otherwise I fear things could be somewhat ugly if he shows up to the first rehearsal in August and there's only like 10-20 undergrads present....

You don't think he found this thread during the recruitment process?

They have St Joes as #6 in the A10.  I'd guess 1-5 in no particular order are Dayton, VCU, Duquesne, LoyChi, and St Bona.  Mason or Fordham could be in if LoyChi or Bona aren't in there.

We don't have a separate thread for this this year, but the Bonnies came in at 112 yesterday.
