  1. That is loser talk. There is no lose, only win.
  2. I despise VCU. Can't wait to put them in their place on Saturday.
  3. Unless I'm missing something on how tickets are distributed/available to students than IMO "REAL" die hard fans would have known this was going to be a hot ticket and jumped on it as soon as tickets were available. If casual, band wagon fans beat everyone else to the box office than shame on those who were too slow. I'm not worried about the atmosphere. If it's sold out it will be rockin.
  4. This! Would drive Bernie nuts.
  5. DD3 knows baseball but what he may not know is that BHTR is a beacon of knowledge that provides the light we all need to guide ourselves to a 24 Hour McDonalds.
  6. The better Havoc does the better we look when we smoke their ass next Saturday.
  7. Reading this thread to catch up and we are so critical of our play at times. Gotta step back and realize we have been dominating this game from the 4 minute mark of the 1st half. Hard to be too picky.
  8. We are just methodical in our execution. Never flustered. So beneficial to have Seniors on the road.
  9. Also makes them look better when they get pulverized.
  10. Agree. Next year will be fun to watch as our young players develop but we won't be rattling off any 13 game win streaks.
  11. If the team keeps winning how can they bring Gus back? Don't mess with the mojo...
  12. Given the size of the crowd and the result I felt as though the overall vibe and energy level was lacking. Perhaps it was the fact that the game was pretty much over before it started but it felt awful quiet last night compared to other blowouts over Butler, Xavier and UNM in recent years. Anyone else agree?
  13. Thought you were referring to BWW and Hooters. I'd make Hooter's a solid double digit favorite on talent but it's a pick'em on wings.
  14. Oh how my heart aches for Butler.
  15. Crews was 920 with Strauss and Burwell mentioned that they had executed that inbounds play in a couple of recent 4 minute scrimmages that both came down to the last 3 seconds. On both, Jett missed the layup. Also said Crawford played football in highscool and has arm.
  16. I guess the underlying point/question of my initial post was your comment about playing better defense under Crews v Majerus and what you attributed it to.
  17. Not knowing whether you have statistical support on your defensive claim (I have not bothered to look it up) IMO it would stand to reason that Majerus' kids as Juniors and Seniors would help the argument that we are better defensively now than two years ago as that has always been the focus of a Majerus/Crews team. FWIW, strictlly using the eye test this year I would argue that our defensive has taken a step back thus far. Wednesday's game was a marked improvement however. You would think that the same would apply to the offense but I think it's apparant that we're definitely missing KM and CE so far. The staff has been searching for the right rotation, giving the Frosh some PT and and mixing and matching substitution paterns. Things seem to be tightening up (with only 8 seeing the floor Wed) so hopefully we can expect to see some improved results come A10 play.
  18. Saw this in the Sports Business Daily and thought it was interesting and relevant enough to share. Lot of similar topics/concerns have been discussed on this board frequently. Univ. Of Kentucky Continues To See Decline In Attendance For Men's Basketball Published December 13, 2013 Attendance at Rupp Arena for the Univ. of Kentucky men's basketball team's first seven games has dropped for "the fourth consecutive year," according to John Clay of the LEXINGTON HERALD-LEADER. Average attendance has "gone from 23,868 through the first seven home games" of '09, John Calipari's first season as the UK coach, "to 21,799 this season." Most of the empty seats this year are "upper-level seats reserved for students," and the team has played a "weak home schedule." UK's "three most interesting matchups this season have been neutral-site games -- Michigan State in Chicago; Providence in Brooklyn and Baylor in Dallas." The prevalence of these "made-for-TV, big-ticket affairs has all but turned the home-and-home series into an antique."Also UK and Indiana "canceled their home-and-home series." Additionally, there may be "a creeping one-and-done fatigue" among UK fans "wistful for the good old days when you got to know players over an extended period." Also, the Rupp Arena experience has "turned stale," with the introductions video "the only noticeable in-game change." The venue's lower level "has always lacked enthusiasm, while the upper level remains cramped and uncomfortable with a poor view of the action"
  19. One week off between game and this is what we get.
