  1. Two years ago, the Bonniues had home-and-homes with Mason, Geedubya, St. Joes, Fordham and Duquesnse. The year before that it was Mason, Duquesne, St. Joe's, Fordham and Davidson. The year before that it was Duquesne, Davidson, St. Joes, Saint Louis and Rhode Island. Of those 15 teams, I'd put Davidson and Rhode Island in the upper echelon of the A10 at the time. The time they got us was 2017-18, the last year of the [dead] recruits. The unbalanced schedule has played to their favor for the last three years running prior to this year. If they are the flagship of the A10 next year, let's line them up with home and homes against us, VCU, Dayton, Richmond and Umass. Play the bigger kids for once.

  2. I think VCU will still be good without Bones. They’ll need to figure out scoring but they have multiple potential breakout guys on that side of the ball. And they have good defenders up and down the roster, including Hason Ward, who is maybe the second best defender in the conference behind Osun.

  3. Yeah I briefly flirted with the idea @slufanskip. The little stitious side of me has been hesitant in the past. We're dropping a (i think 2 hour interview) here shortly and I was scared it was going to fall through if I celebrated early by asking for questions. I think we can give it ago with our next big guest. @billiken_roy@bauman From the handful of interactions I've had with Katie and talks with people around the program about her, SLU seems to be right in her wheelhouse as far as institutional and athletic priorities. I think that there is something to be said for the allure of bigger versions of SLU out there. I think something SLU has been fairly successful in the past is giving "non-revenue" sport coaches significant upgrades to facilities and improved conditions to offset the inability to pay larger salaries. I think we should stay tuned on that front.

  4. He barely played because he got outplayed in practice ...so they played smaller lineups. If you can go out and find a forward to replace him who can potentially give you minutes...you do it.

  5. Basketball recruiting is taking a hard 90 degree turn. Coach's have to be looking at win now, instead of developing players. A Coach's ability to find players in the transfer portal that will mesh into a cohesive unit outweighs finding those 3* HS graduates that might develop into solid players a year or two down the road. A few huge A10 team issues are still unresolved. Example, what if Goodwin decides to return to SLU. Or Watson to Dayton. Same for Mitchell back to UMass. Any of these would significantly change the landscape. This spreadsheet seems to be fairly up to date (well maybe it was yesterday). As you said, most teams rosters aren't set. Duquesne, George Mason, UMass, Rhode Island, St. Joe and VCU appear to at this moment to have a full roster. The rest of us are still in the acquiring mode. The portal is still active both ways. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1QgSo3xymzu43nF20xkXOkJ3ESDx8NPg1fen0PQ1fGuY/edit?hl=en_US&hl=en_US#gid=0

  6. Great job with the interview. She is one very impressive coach and person. If possible, I would love to see SLU come up with a bucket on $$$ to keep her and turn her into the "Mark Few" of Women's College Soccer.

  7. Great job guys. Have you guys thought about putting the word out before the podcast and maybe take a few questions from the message board.

  8. Ummm 2019-20 Dayton went 18-0 in conference was ranked #4 in KenPom compared to Richmond 14-4 and #46 Kenpom. I doubt the gap between 2021-22 Bonaventure and whomever finishes #2 is that large.

  9. I want us to be favored every year. If we want to be a consistent top 25 team we need to embrace being the A10 fav

  10. I wanted to add the Youtube option for anyone who wants to watch our interview with Coach Shields. I think my reaction after the interview speaks for itself but man, Katie Shields just has IT. The interview runs about 38 minutes at the beginning and really is worth watching.
