  1. Past hour
  2. Obvious tampering by his dad.
  3. Tucker DeVries committed to West Virginia. What a surprise.
  4. might as well keep a big, cause Avila plays a ton of minutes.
  5. Today
  6. Has nothing to do with basketball or sports. Enough said by me.
  7. These are the main reasons he won't be returning to ISU, no matter what. And that's before the salary difference, facilities, etc.
  8. You think losing in the semi finals of the NIT (!!!) is going to motivate him to come back (i.e unfinished business)? Lol hell nah
  9. Their guards are versatile, but I consider him a 2 with Conwell the 3. Julian Larry the PG considering he leads them in assists. A backcourt of Conwell, JLarry and Gibby would make sense.
  10. Does the computee consider this a quasi-home game for ISU?
  11. I’m honestly not sure any transfer rules apply anymore curtesy of the courts. At least for non-academic reasons. A situation like Magassa’s would still apply
  12. Swope is a 5'10" PG. Not a swap for Gibson Jimerson.
  13. I don’t think any of us or ISU’s MBMs truly have any idea of what can and cannot legally be signed in this case. As I mentioned in an earlier post, binding pre-contracts are signed all the time in professional soccer. I don’t see why he couldn’t sign something that automatically triggers his buyout upon the completion of their NIT run, and puts into effect a contract with us. It just feels like a done deal to me, and I’m usually more on the pessimistic side of things as they pertain to Billiken Basketball.
  14. So does he need a waiver since he's a two time transfer?
  15. In order of preference, I want this dream roster... 1) Avilla 2) Conwell 3) Kent 4) Larry 5) Swope * The reason I have Swope last, is because if he doesn't come over, then we welcome back Gibby. Then I'm fine taking all three of Schertz's incoming recruits, especially the big man, and let's keep our recruit Williford, who I'm intrigued with. With an experienced starting lineup, I would be fine having four freshman because there won't be a lot of available minutes. So that leaves four more spots. 1) I like Thames as a bench guy, good athleticism and versatility... a solid back-up to Kent 2) A combo guard who is a great perimeter defender first and foremost 3) A more offensive minded combo guard to provide additional ballhandling and another shooter (possibly Hughes, I thought he was over-exposed this year, but in a more limited role, could be effective) 4) Most important, a rim protector & or a bad ass rebounding big
  16. I don’t think it’s going to matter how or when they finish. Don’t go down that thought experiment, you can argue both sides equally if you think hard enough lol.
  17. Schertz is going to act like he’s not going anywhere until the final whistle of ISU’s last game. He’ll do the press conference and won’t give any definitive answers. Sometime shortly afterwards his agent will leak the news he’s going to SLU and it will show up on Twitter. That’s how it’s done, see the numerous coaches that have recently moved on. He’s not going to deviate from normal behavior, regardless of the worries of fans on all sides.
  18. Yes that has crossed my mind. I think at this point them losing the next game is worst case scenario. Can you sign a more legally binding document while you're under contract at another school? That just doesn't seem like a thing you can do but I know very little about how contractual obligations work. But I'm sure old guy can tell me.
  19. if we're going down that train of thought, and I think you're correct. You're also leaving them, if you leave them with an NIT championship, they are going to remember you fondly regardless of whether you left right after. Again, he's a pro and this is the right way to treat your fans. Do your best until the end, and that includes treating your fans to the best possible experience.
  20. I have 05 on ignore for a year, so I wouldn’t read that.
  21. I'd keep Thames and a big. Hughes and Curcic are fine but I don't have a need to keep either at all. I'm not sure Thames is going to reach his potential but you can't give up on a guy like that. And keep a big even if it just ends up being for depth.
  22. This is the timeline of his recruiting. ISU actually offered him before we did. https://247sports.com/Player/JaQuavis-Williford-46143006/TimelineEvents/ I would think we would be a nice addition for any offensively skilled player.
  23. I think that’s exactly why he’s still tweeting, if he were radio silent, it might be pretty telling that he’s gone. He wants to win the NIT, and keeping the fans engaged has helped with that up to this point. Their atmospheres have been great, and I’m sure he wants a ton of fans at Hinkle. It’s in his best interest to keep them thinking they have a shot. Again, I have no inside info, but the multiple reports of Louisville needing to pay us a buyout to sign Schertz has me thinking he has already signed something more binding than an MOU.
