bbillhater
What team did the men's basketball Billikens defeat 50 years ago (March 21, 1948) in the NIT to win the national championship? What two-time All-American and future member of the St. Louis Hawks competed in that game? Name the two other men who were named All-Americans in the history of the men's basketball program. Who was the coach of the 1947-48 national champion Billikens? Who was the last Billiken to be named an academic All-American? I will post the answers later on

Sheltiedave
Right on Mo Cheeks. As far as the conference that has the most NCAA championships...it is the MVC, believe it or not. More teams won the NCAA championship during a member year, than the teams in the Metro, GMC, CUSA, and A10 during their existance. Torch, good roll call and memory there! Billikan
From my time I can only remember the "old gym" at West Pine--which was actually used for a few games during Grawer"s time, the original Keil Auditorium which goes back to the 40"s at least, the Arena, The Checkerdome, the new Keil, Saavis, St Charles Family Arena and Scottrade. brianstl
The Amory on the otherside of Highway 40 was the Bills home for like the first five season of Billiken history. The next 20 years West Pine was the home.

I loved that Utah team, Mike Doleac, Andre Miller, and a wing, that I cant remember right now. That was back when Stanford had Arthur Lee, and Mark Madsen, and I believe I started watching them because they had a Mosley, but I dont think it was spelled right. i remember Doleac started the game off with a 3 from the top of the key and the rest is history. A year later against Mizzou, Kenny Thomas of New Mexico started a game with a 3 from the top of the key and I knew it was gonna be a long night. My favorite all-time billiken. Virgil Cobbin.
