From what I saw freshman Tea Kalajdzic looked good in spots as outside hitter, so give her some time and some coaching and she seems like she could be a really good player. It looks like it's a matter of the top 3-4 players last season all being seniors. Otherwise there wasn't much roster turnover and the coaching staff is the same. Tough start after being a top half Big East team last year. Illinois State is 1-3 on the season. They're up 2-1 on Xavier and the fourth set is a close one so far. Not to get unnecessarily nostalgic but those A10 Volleyball seasons with Xavier, Temple, Dayton, SLU....Charlotte had a little juice and GW put a decent squad on the court. I thought SLU was heavily improved in passing than at times last year. Strange tournament results: SLU and ISU were 2-1. Army and Xavier 1-2. I guess we win since we have the tiebreaker over ISU. It’s been over a year since I’ve been on campus and it was looking really nice on a picture perfect afternoon. It gets better every time I visit. The wins against Army and Illinios State were really good and for the most part they looked good doing it, but loosing to Xavier was a bit of a surprise. SLU was their first and only victory of the year. This team is showing signs of being really improved. Looking forward to seeing how they do at Missouri State. Certainly not very good but have played a couple of better teams (SMU, LMU) UTA hasn't played alot of great competition but have swept 5 of their 6 matches. Yikes!. They need to win today because UTA is going to be tough and its always hard to beat the host school. From what I recall we have had almost no luck against (SW) Missouri State. Lord Elrond Posted September 13 Share Posted September 13 Today, they got swept by UTA, 26-24, 25-12, 25-12. Not sure I can come up with anything good from the stats (no TV for this). It must be said that UTA appears to be a really good team, they are 8-0, and 7 of those teams they have faced haven’t won a single set, the only opponent to win a set was Santa Clara, who won 2 sets, but lost the match 3-2 to UTA.
