Pistol
Great piece. Bess doesn't get as much offseason chatter around here because we all know who he is: Rock solid glue guy who gets the job done at both ends. I expect big things from him as a senior. He seems completely locked in. If this were hockey, he's got the C on his jersey this season. Also, the Majerus Mantra of "Defend, Rebound" really is evergreen, especially for this team that will struggle to score on some nights. Their effort on the glass and defensive end can never lag. slu72
Scoring, I'm hoping w/Isabell those scoring droughts we've become accustomed to over the last 4-5 years are a thing of the past. Also, with French, Foreman, and Gordon we should pick up some chippies from O rebounds. That said, even the best teams are gonna have bad shooting nights and that's where solid D and rebounds can get you a W.

It's the nature of basketball and especially college basketball. One player isn't going to magically fix that. I wouldn't get your hopes up. rgbilliken likes this
slu72
Jeez, I think that was the point of my last sentence. You certainly have an eye for the obvious.

EVERY team has scoring droughts in EVERY game. That’s BASKETBALL

almaman
I think the most dramatic improvement will be our inside shooting %. Gordon will be more able to score coming in than either of last years studs. JG was awful at the start, he surely will improve and French did get better and with Gordon taking 1/2 the heat off him will improve. We certainly will need some outside shooting repeating the obvious again.
