Pistol
James Bouknight, a 2018 SG from LaSalle Academy in NYC, is transferring to The MacDuffie School in Massachusetts. This will raise his recruiting profile. He was flying under the radar at LaSalle, which is in the Class B division, a lower division in NY. He will also be playing alongside Ismael Massoud, another player with a SLU offer. SLU is the latest to offer Bouknight, and I'm not sure whether the offer will carry over or not. He has an offer from Illinois State in addition to those two. Kansas, Illinois, and Bradley have shown interest.

I haven't seen him live (or most of these guys), but I've watched some video and always read as much as I can. The main thing I'll say at this point is that I can't believe he doesn't have more offers by now. He's in a weird pattern of having the largest regional programs recruiting him, but almost nobody else. You'd think he would have at least several mid-major offers at this point. Anyway, he's a really nice athlete with a good frame. He works hard. He's a strong finisher and rebounds his position extremely well. I'd like to see him shoot better but his mechanics are good and there's no reason he can't improve there. Good skill set to build upon. I'd be happy to land him. 3star_recruit
Hargrove needs to get on a legit AAU team if he wants to maximize his recruiting options.

A summer with BBE would be good for him on the recruiting trail, but I'm it's better for the local programs if he continue to fly under the radar

His mother remains loyal to the team he grew up playing on but i think things might change next summer.
STL Hoops Insider
SLU has proximity and immediate playing time. Mizzou has a former teammate, and a coach from his school and area. And his new high school head coach Stetson Hairston considers Martin a mentor. This will be an interesting battle.

This is absolutely true. The few scouting services who saw him this spring said he was outstanding, one of the most improved players and showing a ton of potential. But apparently not enough people - especially coaches - saw him play.
billiken_roy
well i sure hope he doesnt find his way to a higher profile aau team. i like our chances a lot better (between us and mi$$ouri) if all stays as it is.

You really think Tilmon will still be on Mizzou's team in 2 years? I'll take the under on that. I'd also suggest that the way 2018 recruiting is going for Mizzou and the likelihood of both Porters and Tilmon being gone 2 years from now there will be plenty of playing time available for Hargrove, likely more than at SLU. If you guys actually want to talk recruiting, I think Mizzou's schedule needs to be analyzed. It is honestly a joke of a Non-conference. I am no expert in RPI or whatever but it seems to me that they really have to perform in the SEC conference games and SEC tourney to get a bid to the NCAA. Top 5 min of SEC I think. I think this is important because if Mizzou does not make the tournament, their 2019 recruiting will be no competition.

Power conference teams can afford poor non-conference schedules. It's not going to make or break them. Unless you're a Mizzou fan, there is no reason to hyperventilate over their schedule. I don't care enough to look closely, but it doesn't strike me as much different from the typical non-conference schedule in their recent history. My two schools are SLU and Wisconsin for college sports. I guess I just want someone to confirm that Travis Ford put together a better non conference schedule than Mizzou. Why wouldn't Tilmon still be there? And Hargrove is a wing so the number of bigs is not a major factor in his recruiting although he could likely play some small ball

When you play in the SEC you don't necessarily need a powerful non-conference schedule. Jim Boeheim has had the weakest non-con schedules for decades yet he's done alright for himself.
