Billiken Rich
I'm guessing this game wouldn't be on here if it didn't matter to SLU. As Dylan said "The times they are a changing." To paraphrase Ron Burgundy, We're (at least becoming) kind of a big deal...........
kshoe
Rich, I'm pretty sure it's a national broadcast and everyone is getting it.
Taj79
Yep, kshoe. National broadcast on CBS.
DiehardFan
This game was likely planned to be a national broadcast before the beginning of the season. They look for what matchups will make good television. They got lucky that this is going to be a tight game today. The game that ESPN failed on picking was the Missouri-Kentucky Saturday night game. At least we got to watch Missouri lose both in that game and yesterday's game. Wonder how much their stock is going to fall in the tourney. ARon
And of course Shaka Smart is on there talking about "winning a championship" like we don't exist.
ARon
And just like that, 7-0 Temple, timeout VCU.
kshoe
And of course Shaka Smart is on there talking about "winning a championship" like we don't exist.Kind of the same way we celebrated yesterday like they didn't exist... 7-0 start for Temple. Love it.

ARon
Kind of the same way we celebrated yesterday like they didn't exist...7-0 start for Temple. Love it. We have the head-to-head win. We have the tiebreaker. No one can argue we are not champions. So no reason not to celebrate. If VCU wins they can call themselves champs. But we can still roll our eyes and say, "Yeah, sure you are."
Billiken Rich
I'm thinking we'd rather play VCU again rather than Temple......
billikenfan05
I'm thinking we'd rather play VCU again rather than Temple...... Because temple is the better skilled team.

I was more than ready to call us champions last year if Temple had lost the last game of the season despite them having the tie breaker. The idea that Shaka should be qualifying his pre-game speech to his team with "co-championship" type language is ridiculous.
Billiken Rich
Is it just me or do you beat VCU's back court pressure by just slowly clearing everyone out after the inbound and slowly bring up the ball? All of our guards were patient as hell except Kwamain a couple times....
SpartanBilliken
Watching the game. Refs are horrible in this one too. Needless to say, A10 refs suck.

Bay Area Billiken
Irrespective of what happens in this game in Philly, VCWho is #2. SLU is #1.
moytoy12
Dear CBS, ask SLU how you handle havoc.
Bay Area Billiken
Don't panic vs. Havoc. Punish it. It is a gimmick system.
Billiken Rich
Damn VCU is shooting 100% from the 3.......
kshoe
The problem isnt temple handling the havoc, it's them not playing defense. 41 points with 2 to go in the half is horrible

I suppose I'm already dreading when VCU wins how we're going to be hearing Reggie Miller and the other two on national television talking about VCU being the A10 champs. I'm sure they will footnote us but still.

billikens747
Temple getting some momentum going into the half, got it to single digit with 1 min to go.
moytoy12
Nice run by Temple. Could get it down to 2 by halftime.
