SluSignGuy
http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/basketball/news?slug=pf-forde_majerus_billikens_contenders_atlantic_10_122811 Article from Yahoo. Did I miss that SLU tried to get Pitino post Soderberg? (Article also has an error, calling Romar an assistant before SLU, I think he was head coach at Pepperdine)
DeSmetBilliken
Yeah, never heard about SLU trying to get Pitino. Guessing it ended really quickly. Noticed the thing about Romar. I tweeted at Forde that he had been at Pepperdine before SLU and that Soderberg had been the interim head coach at Wisconsin.
SLU_Nick
Pitino was news for me too...surprising to say the least. PitIno is a slime ball, so glad we have Rick

Is this a referance to his stamina in the bedroom? http://thebiglead.com/index.php/2010/07/29/if-you-thought-rick-pitinos-15-second-admission-was-rough-the-combative-cross-examination-was-much-worse/
kshoe
http://rivals.yahoo....antic_10_122811 Article from Yahoo. Did I miss that SLU tried to get Pitino post Soderberg? (Article also has an error, calling Romar an assistant before SLU, I think he was head coach at Pepperdine) If true, I'm surprised they didn't put feelers out for Coack K an Roy Williams too! Come on SLU, there is no way a guy like Pitino was going to leave a Big East power in basketball crazed country for an A-10 team with a middling fan base... Its so unrealistic it almost has to be a mistake. Good article otherwise.
slu72
That's about the best article on RM and SLU I've read. The Pitino quest was quite a surprise. Hats off to the good Dr. for his continuing support of the program. He's acting like the team's owner which is fine by me.

Taj79
Great article. Sure, the noted gaffes but still very good. Saying that, the last line scares me.
ACE
I heard last week that Forde was in town covering the MU/IU game and stopped by for a visit with Majerus. It's cool that Majerus also got a visit from Knight, in part because of Crews. Majerus was able to generate a little publicity for SLU when media was covering the Border War game. When SLU had a little success earlier, you saw all of the mentions that it got from ESPN commentators. No SLU coach, including Spoon, has generated more media buzz than RM.
