"The university's Board of Curators will vote on the issue at its meeting later this week in Columbia. "The Rivermen has had a mixed reception since it was first instituted in the 1960s. Its gender specificity also has not sat well with some female athletes. "A committee of alumni, students, and staff recommended two finalists to Chancellor Thomas George: Tritons and Mudcats.
