Yeah I don't really have a problem with Hofstra. They're respectable and we've had a few Northeast players on the roster being in the A10 so not a bad trip to make. Also we can't really big time anybody right now.

Dalger's defense has been impressive.  When he committed to SLU, several posters said he was the second worst defender on a very bad defensive team.  He has certainly out paced any expectations.  I really like him at the top of the 1-3-1.  Against Drake, he had three straight deflections/steals on top.  When we went to man, he was on DeVries, and held him to half his average.
Yesterday his primary assignment was the nation's 4th leading scorer, Tyler Thomas.  Thomas got his points, but he took about half of the Pride's total shots to get there.  He had a few, but not many, open looks.
    Dog Dalger!

Dog Dalger!  Tenacious D also.  Yes his mark, Tyler Thomas hit for 29, but he needed 25 shots (almost half of Hofstra's) to get there.
    Fun game to watch.

Isiah Parker is under contract with F.C Dallas for 2024 season, having finished the 2023 season on loan at San Antonio.

Credit where credit is due.  Impressive stuff from the guys.  No matter how this turns out they've played with pride and focus tonight.

No you don't get it.  I don't give a ratsass on what you post.  I am commenting on Where you post.  Go back and read the posts which you obviously haven't.  Keep posting, just don't try to hijack decent threads.  Is that too much to ask?  (Or if you must hijack everything, try posting something new.)
I go back to the Grawer era.  If that means anything.  I have three idiots on Ignore, and not because I don't agree with their agenda's.

You don't get it, do you.  No one is saying they don't want to read your repetitive posts (although a little originality would be nice).  The issue is you and the rest of the "We Hate Ford, May and SLU" posters hijack every thread. Some of us do like to talk about basketball.
What we are asking is for you and your followers to simply color inside the lines.  It really isn't that hard.

I asked @SluSignGuySteve to help solve this yesterday.  Everyone has a chance to vent and to express their opinion.  That is what message boards are for.  But as you say, certain posters seem to think their thoughts are not read, and insist on repeating, repeating, repeating their anger in every single thread.

Sure I can always block posters.  But I thought I would suggest a compromise.  You have a legitimate grievance.  But it's against Coach Ford and Chris May.  It's not against me.  This is similar to me being angry at my boss and taking it out on my friends.  My friends didn't do anything to me.
I don't want to block you.  I think your anger has just got the best of you.  I'll just wait for the old A_Bomb to come back.

If you have 30 minutes, listen to this Billiken's podcast.  This podcast was dropped before the Utah State game.
Rammer speaks of two players who agreed to NIL terms with the Billikens this season, who then were contacted by other schools who upped the offer and drew the players out of their agreement.  One in particular team asked what the player's offer was and said we will double it.  (Vice and Noland? or Dandridge?)  The BVL is making progress, but they can't outbid Power 5 schools.  We have to figure out this new gray area.  It is a mid major issue.  If the trend continues, we might end up with two groups in hoops.
Medley is impressive at PG.  Great hands on defense.  He looks to be in control as point.  He is getting a lot of tips.
Rocchio:  Zhang, every screen he sets is illegal.  He needs to get out of the Euro ball thought process and stop the offensive goal tending.
Rammer:  the difference between the one win and two losses at Myrtle Beach, you lost your best scorer.  We don't have  Kentucky's roster with 9 All Americans.  Depth is an issue.  Ezewiro is a difference maker.  He still is in limbo.  He can play next year if he doesn't get a waiver, but next year is fantasy land.  These are two players that are hard to compensate.
Rammer:  the usual talk he has about Jimerson getting mugged on the floor.
Vermont was very impressive with their ball handling and passing.  They played hard.  They trust each other and they are connected.
Dartmouth game, they were getting a lot of open three's off their pick and pop. Hargrove was dropping.  Bills weren't switching nor executing on guarding the arc.   Bills came back and switched everything, 1 to 5 on the pick and rolls.  Worked for a couple of possessions.  Dartmouth countered with trying to isolate Monroe, then SLU countered again.  Lot of back and forth on schemes with the two coaches.
On his 'shot' Zhang was given the ball in a position where he should not have been given the ball. That was the passer's fault.   Zhang's issue not passing back out and taking the 15 footer.  Spacing was not good on that play.  When and where each player should get the ball is still an issue with this team.
Thames, always hunting for the ball.

@SluSignGuy Steve can you move all of the I hate SLU basketball comments to a separate thread so that those of us that want to follow the “A10 Around the League” can have a decent conversation?

I have no problem with MBM’s expressing their opinions, but EVERY THREAD is getting dumped on.

Nobody sees a five point loss as a victory for CTF.  It is, however, a testament to the heart that the team plays with to come back from 20 points down to make it a game in the last few minutes.  Support the team!

I get it.  I'm even cool if you guys pin a thread to the top where you vent about all of Coach Ford shortcomings every game.  But hijacking every thread to vent about Coach Ford isn't fair to the other posters on this board.  We didn't do anything to you.

There are no style points in basketball.  If you outscore the other team you win.   If you grab 4 more rebounds and make 3 more shots, that can be the difference between winning and losing.

I get that the only narrative people want to discuss is Coach Ford no matter what the players show us on the court.   I get that you will have no other narrative unless we win the A10 tournament.  But what thread are we allowed to discuss the players accomplishments' if every thread is turned into a referendum on Coach Ford?

Walter Nolan publishes a NET approximation.  I've looked at it early season for 6 years, and it is usually spot on with the NET when it is published. Anyway, Utah State has a NET rank of 18.  Right now, that is the highest NET of any team on our schedule.  RPI for the Aggies is 14.

That was a fun game to watch.  I didn't have a good angle, but the out of bounds play with 14 seconds left had to be close to a turnover.  There was no argument, so the Aggie had to be in bounds, but I'm guessing not by much.  Could of, would of, should of.
