  1. It’s a damn shame both of those places only exist in our memories. And now I’ve got that damn song from “Cats” stuck in my head. F.
  2. The defensive scheme executed most perfectly by that Gustavson kid at Richmond. They’ve always known each time Gibson comes home to make his life a living hell. That’s the playbook.
  3. These refs and the amount of time looking at these monitors is just absolutely power tripping ridiculous.
  4. Unreal. The fragility of this program boggles the mind.
  5. Hahahah not even close! No I was just echoing your sentiment that it’s foolish to take someone from the HS ranks to the upper echelon of college sports. Faust’s hiring was the death knell for Moose Krause. Going that route would be the death knell for any athletic director moving forward. And, of course, Faust is a Dayton alum.
  6. You’re old enough to remember Gerry Faust. Cincinnati Moeller to Notre Freaking Dame.
  7. That was a d2-quality crew last night and Sincere paid for their lack of decorum. Not even Teddy Valentine would have run a kid for that. He ain’t the second coming of Rasheed Wallace, but I appreciate his zeal for chirping a bit. This team needs a spark plug like that.
  8. The best in the series, IMO. Absolute Peak Nimoy. And released on my IVth birthday, no less!
  9. Man, I almost forgot about Pierre Pierce. Lord have mercy. What a $hitshow. Alford is a Title IX admin’s worst nightmare.
  10. 72: at least take solace that not every single division one prospect can enroll at Kentucky. Some of them have to end up on rosters at other schools. Sometimes, the scraps can provide just as much nourishment as the main course. And that’s about as Pollyannish as I will get. We all start the season 0-0. All of us will end up six feet below ground. Stay humble. Go Bills.
  11. And UNC has subsequently lost to ACC behemoths Virginia and Georgia Tech since Walker was cleared to play. And he got absolutely leveled by a Tech kid which sealed the W for the Wreck on Saturday. If you’re a fan of UNC football, you’ve seen this story play out before. And Mack Brown is usually the one driving the car when the brakes fail.
  12. All I can think about is Bob Hughes running Purple Heart drills while Coach Stick puts out a cigarette on home plate. Late 90s early 2000s Billiken Baseball used to play “Great Day to be Alive” by Travis Tritt when we won a home game. Ol’ Travis probably made $1.50 in ASCAP royalties in four years.
  13. I had to read this in some sort of Dick Schaap voice from the “Sports Reporters” on ESPN because it was so well-written and spot-on. Well done.
  14. Had the opportunity to put a wreath on his grave last December in Arlington National Cemetery for the “Wreaths Across America” day. Hope I can do it again this December. A real American hero. God bless.
  15. I appreciate your rebuttal… well played!
  16. Historically, it would have made more sense for Franco to play in Spain. Dictating shot direction, etc.
  17. Those college bands have 40,000 undergraduates on the mean to choose from. We do not have that luxury.
  18. Denton is lovely this time of year…
  19. The gamecocks of South Carolina would also like to be included, having won the CWS in 2010 and 2011 and runners up in 2012. They’ve got some incredible facilities in Columbia. They get constantly overlooked in the SEC. As a state, South Carolina has some of the best college baseball in the Union with USC, Clemson even costal Carolina and the college of Charleston having phenomenal teams. Citadel is the only military school to even make it to Omaha!
  20. Get some good coloring books for the football team.
  21. This is a microcosm of the whole NIL thing killing the upper tier mid-major programs. A kid will just tinker with the SLU’s of the world until a power 5 school picks up the phone. Essentially using us as leverage, Ford needs to say “this offer expires in 24 hours.” We are getting played by these guys. At least we can move to the next guy after a day and not waste time. Be better at sales, Travis. Hope you got something out of that Kentucky education.
  22. Hahah - that also might be an alias of a mythological swamp-man named Amos Moses who grew up 45 minutes southeast of Tippitoe, Louisiana.
  23. True statement. LSU rode the coattails of a pitcher they poached from none other than the US Air Force Academy, and his former teammates showed up in Omaha with one of his old USAFA jerseys, as we live in the most interesting of times. I don’t know if I’d want to be within 1,000 yards of a former teammate who decided to leave a team behind, regardless of where he ended up. But I was born in the 80s, and was taught a modicum of loyalty, I suppose. Thanks to the nuns at St Bernard’s Grade School in Nashville! Shoutout to Sister Neña!
  24. It could have, but the game didn’t mean anything. We were cruising and Ford could have given some guys who haven’t seen the court an opportunity. Again, this wasn’t the VCU game. I get what you are saying, but it was an exhibition game.
