  1. This is a little OT but Hooisers is one of my top 3 movies of all time. Ive read some articles and watched some documentries about that Milan High team. (The team the story was based on) And one thing that has always stood out to me is that they beat Oscar Robertson's team on the way to the state championship. The big O was a sophomore and it was the only loss of his HS career. Him and his team went on to win the next two state championships. Back on topic...a game changing scorer would be real nice,
  2. Japanese people are nice too And some hot women
  3. The Bills lost but I dont think they were as outplayed as some of you are making it. Some times teams have great shooting nights and Temple had one. REB: Temple 24 SLU 32 AST: Temple 11 SLU 11 STL: Temple 6 SLU 8 BLK: Temple 6 SLU 5 TO: Temple 13 SLU10 They played hard. They played tough. They were right there the entire game. This loss hurts, its disappointing and very frustrating but the team is still a good team and a top team in the A-10. They lost to a team that was better TONIGHT.
  4. Thats not true at all. Im not sure if you mean Ellis had his worst game or the team but either way its pretty far off base. Cody had a solid first half and really didnt see the floor much in the second half until the end. We can ***** and moan all day long but the fact is is that Temple was on FIRE!!! The Bills lost to a better team tonight but I dont think they are the better team on a nightly basis. To pretty even teams, one was hot one wasnt. The stats were almost even across the board except for one huge difference...shooting % If the Owls shoot like they do on most night the Bills probably win. Its a tough loss, Im all types of pissed off about it, but they will bounce back. And the next time they play Temple they wont shoot 60% from the field and 70 % from 3.
  5. This is the type of game that really pisses me off. Here is the conversation I had with the GF after the loss. Her: "When they get beat it sure puts you in a pissy mood" Me: "I know, sorry, hopefully they dont have many more losses like this. I wish they made something that would help me forget games like this for the rest of the night." Her: "Hmm? maybe I can help you with that." At this point she leaves the room and comes back about 10 minutes later with a 1/5 of Captain, a 2 liter of coke, and a big fat joint. Unlike the Bills she came through in the clutch.
  6. DING DING DING!!!! Bang he Got It!! After the last two games Ive seen/heard people blame the refs, the scheduling, the coach, and everything in between but those stats are the only ones we need to fix. When the Bills have been routing opponents they have been shooting at a 50% clip, if they do that tonight they win big. Until they learn to shoot in hostile enviroments they are in troble.
  7. Agree and even more important he needs to find his FT stroke. You cant have a starting PG shoot 50% from the line. In close games he will have the ball. And right now he is also the guy the other team wants to foul.
  8. I was arguing with my dad about this. He said the same thing you did but I saw if a little differently. IMO they were still crisp and moving the ball (atleast for the first 30 minutes) they just werent knocking down the open shots. When you shoot 40% from 3 and 50% from the field the Offense looks great, when you cant throw the ball in the ocean it looks awful.
  9. 5-19 from 3 (26%) 24-62 FG (38%) Out rebounded 40-27 Starting "star" PG cant make FT's and seemed lost in the final 10 seconds the "senior leader" at guard cant defend and is affraid to take a shot If these trends continue we will not win a true road game against good teams. This game was way to simalar to the NM game. I was hoping to see improvement but it wasnt there. Its time to teach these guys how to shoot outside of the Fetz.
  10. I think they had a plan it just wasnt a very good one. I get that some coaches have a style of play and will never stray from that stlye, but don't you think that when you are down by 20+ at half you may want to try something different? That trapping press may work against some teams but not a well coahed team. I just dont get how a D1 BBall coach can be so one dimensional and either to dumb or stubborn to make in game changes.
  11. Im 31 and have the print edition delieverd every day. But only because I dont like taking my lap top into the krapper.
  12. Funny you bring this up becasue I was just bitching about the same thing to my dad. The first one didnt bother me but the second one kind of pissed me off. I dont know what type of person would right into a paper about something that they obviously know nothing about. She is the type of person that is responsible for some of the bad blood between Mizzou and SLU fans. That lady writting a sound off letter about the Bills would be like me writting an opinion piece about Nuclear Fusion.
  13. The print version had a full game recap. I wish they had more coverage too but I cant complain about the headlines yesterday. -Mizzou vs. Illinois is one of the biggest St. Louis sporting events of the year. Its always going to be top billing if for no other reason to help keep it a bigtime event. -The Cards still own this city, when they make a big move it will always be front page coveage. -The Rams suck but they are still an NFL team. NFL news, even bad news about a bad team, well get higher billing than preconference CBB -The Bills played Arkansas state.
  14. Beltran is a good player but Im not sure I like him blocking/platooning with Craig for 13 Million a year. THis move helps out for the first two months of the season while AC is DL'ed but it has a chance of back firining long term. IMO the NLC is weak enough to where the Cards would of been able to hang around first place until the trade deadline without Beltran. Then in July they could of used the money to upgrade second base, the BP, or the rotation.I like Beltran, think he is a good player and will have a good year, Im just not sure if 26 million for a two month starter/platoon OF is a wise investment
  15. It was nice to see a big win but what was even better was seeing them score 70 without huge point toatls from KM, RL, or CE and KC didnt have any. THat just shows you how deep this team is. If a player is cold on the offensive end another is right there to pick up the slack.
  16. I was at a 4th of july BBQ and the hosts were not surrving Hamburgers, hotdogs, or ribs. They also had a soccer game on TV instead of baseball and only had Guinness, Heineken, or Becks to drink. That was the most Un-American thing I have ever seen.
  17. Agree 100% Except for the Dukes, Kansas, and Kentuckys of the world teams usually dont sell out games against Who gives a hoot state. When conference starts the place will be close to filled almost every game.
  18. I wouldnt say they arent having great indivdual games. THey may not be having great scoring games but they are having great games. Low turnovers, high assissts, and good defense equals a great game for a guard IMO. With the scoring we have been getting from BC and CE it doesnt leave a lot of points left for the guards, other than KM. If they can continue to protect the ball, play D, and knock down the occassional open jumper this group of guards, no matter the PPG, will have a great season.
  19. Agree MM will be fine. He is a good player who is learning a new role and to some degree I think the coaching staff is still learning how best to use him. With RM's style we wont see to many 75-85 point games. For the most part KM, CE, and BC will contribute 40-45 between the three of them and with this style that only leaves about 20-25 points for the rest of the 6 man rotation. KC and RL almost always get their 5-6 and that leaves even less for MM, JJ, and DE. I would imagine MM has been a scorer his entire basketball career, this is probably really new to him. I really beleive he will adapt to his new role this year and it will make him an even better player in his 3rd and 4th years. His scoring will be needed in his final two years and Im sure it will be there. The team game he is learning this year will only help him and I would not be suprised if he ended up as an all conference performer by his senior year.
  20. JB looked quicker and more athletic on his two drives to the hoop tonight than CS ever did. He didnt finish, but both times he blew by his defender with an ultra quick step. He also had seven rebounds tonight.
  21. "Their parents are Ward and June Cleaver. They're are the Beavers of the 2010s." I think a new big head may be in order
  22. Defense is getting shredded plus they are making everything and hitting some tough shots. Things will even out soon.
  23. I am. I havent been able to figure out how to turn it off. Hopefully it will be a blow out by half so I can turn it off and watch the KU OSU game
  24. I gave my tickets away today and am now kind of happy about it. Never expected to see this http://www.firstrowsports.tv/watch/97120/1/watch-illinois-springfield-vs-st-louis.html When the games against D2 teams are streamed you are doing pretty well.
  25. I may be mistaken but I think I remember hearing that Fisher is the only player to hold Dwayne Wade to single digits in his college career. Fisher was exactly what you want in a college basketball PG. (not counting Mcdonald All americans or future NBA all-stars) He was steady from day one and improved a part of his game every year he was in school. Fisher is the type of player Majerus would have loved to coach up.
