  1. I really liked the quote about "SLU is more likely to attract students from the east coast than Valley towns like Peoria, etc. I guarantee there are more SLU students from Peoria, Illinois; Wichita, Kansas; or Omaha, Nebraska than from the east coast cities represented by the A10. Guaranteed! Isn't SLU=in=the=A10 for that bogus "Well if this, this, this this, this, this, this, that, this, those, that, this, them, there, when, that, who, this, this, there, and this happen we can move into the Big East" reason kind of the same as Majerus sacrificing this season and "next" for the sake of the system? Similarities?
  2. Why won't people drop this kent state game. nothing good has ever happened at kent state. If you lose by 40 or lose by 4, it counts the exact same way. 1 Loss
  3. Maybe these guys should just nut up and play basketball. I am a lot more likely to side with the coach who has done it before rather than the players who never have. The court is still 94 feet long and the basket is still 10 feet high. 20% shooting aint gonna cut it, 30% shooting aint gonna cut it, and 38.5% for the team aint gonna cut it.
  4. Well I guess you could take a year off from the Bills and go root for the team that the old coach is coaching... oh wait..
  5. Well earlier today someone made reference of BS mentioning motivation and heart last year when he was clamoring for a Drejaj type. You don't need a team full of guys to bust their ass and want to win, you just need a couple. Does anyone on this team remind you in the slightest of Anthony Drejaj? No. Any team with AD would not have been whooped by a mid level team by 41. Maybe someone to come out of the timeouts to pump up the crowd, the kind of guy taht will get in someones face. KILLER INSTINCT. Thats what this team needs.
  6. That damn Majerus, he raised the basket to 12 feet high and shortened the length of the court to 84 feet. Every member of that team should be waking up everyday, clapping their hands, and thanking Biondi that Majerus is on board. I'll side with the Hall of Fame coach that wins 3 outta every 4 games, 10 times outta 10
  7. " Tommie played well his first two years now all of a sudden he's not, its not Tommie it's the coach. I'd rather have Sodie." This is by far the worst quote I have ever seen on this board. I guess i'd rather have Brad too, if I wanted to make the NIT all-1st/2nd-round team every 3rd year, and then spend a few years toiling away in a 3rd rate euroleague. But I think I'd rather have Majerus for just about every other possible reason. This kind of statement really doesn't even deserve attention because it is so ridiculous. Sigh. So frustrating.
  8. The old phrase...this is why they play the games. And remember, this was a recruiting class that was thrown together in what? 3 months? Imagine what they can do with a full year to recruit for 09. Damn.
  9. A year from now one of the best recruiting classes in school history plus 2 returning all conference type guards will be running out of the tunnel and onto the court at a brand new, jam packed, screaming loud, firework exploding, rockin arena. They will be followed out by a future Hall of Fame coach along with one of the best staffs in the country. Chew on that for a minute
  10. I'm just wondering why he thinks it is a prudent use of money on lawyers for such a fruitless endeavour. Pass the plate folks, give bundles, next week the archbishop is going after the democrats again! Screw the poor, needy, homeless, hungry, parched, sick, dying, and broke college students! We need to stop the nonbelievers!
  11. > >How can his career high be 12 points when hit 12 3pt shots >in one game. That's at least 36. You are a hater. SLU >fans should be chomping at the bit to get this kid. When did this 12 3 point shot game happen? I am at a loss. I am really not a huge fan of Roth, but he does have a solid shot..
  12. >Not sure what UNC-C is, but the Charlotte 49ers actually >have 5 in-state games www.uncc.edu , that should answer some of your questions.
  13. but can anyone say with a >straight face that SLU has put a "Cadillac" product on the >court with any regularity since the early '60s? > Actually, last year was a Cadillac product. They looked good on paper and in pictures, but when you got into it, they were really just a Chevy with leather.
  14. You cant blame them for running with the rumors that their uncle-brother gave them.
  15. >I know we have some lawyers on this board and I'm not trying >to insult them but this lawsuit is just ridiculous. > >http://www.kmov.com/topstories/stories/kmo...it.6cb022b.html > >This part in particular is just sickening: > >"Reports out of Mississippi say that the family is also >suing tow truck company and driver of the truck Hancock hit >as well as the driver of the disabled vehicle that called >for the tow truck." > >Note to my family memebers, if I ever do something stupid >and completely within my responsibility please do NOT sue >innocent people...particularly if their only crime was 1) >getting in an accident or 2) being a good samaritan to help >the people in that accident. This isn't the lawyers fault. This is the family's fault for being so damn stupid. Their son was a partier, drunk, druggie. He died as a result of HIS actions. The tow truck was on the shoulder of an 8 lane highway. There were 3 other lanes for him to avoid the flashing lights. Sounds like the parents are at the same level of intelligence as the son. Why not sue the Cincinnati Reds for releasing him because he was a drunk that showed up overweight to spring training and constantly hungover/late? If not for that, maybe he would have never encountered St Louis. Why not sue himself for being a poor parent. He raised a child that obviously was not very thankful for the opportunity to be a major league baseball player, which is an opportunity many would kill for. There is plenty of blame to go around, most of it falling on people with the last name of Hancock.
  16. >The Mizzou boys are not to impressed with the committment of >BT. Personally, I think that they are worried that RM is >going to kick their tiger tails in future recruiting >battles. > >http://www.tigerboard.com/boards/list.php?board=1 I wouldn't wipe with a degree from Missery. I prefer Charmin.
  17. >http://www.slu.edu/pr/hunter_bio.html > >basically biondo's personal human relations guy. > >i guess they are in full repair damage mode now. got to put >on the happy face and all hold hands and sing cumba ya. does anyone think he looks similar to al sharpton? http://content.answers.com/main/content/wp...on_20060109.jpg http://www.slu.edu/pr/images/hunter_bio_135.jpg
  18. http://www.kfns.com/multimedia/listen_live.aspx listen live, hurry though
  19. Join >a mid-major conference, who after having the greatest year >of all time gets a measley 2 NCAA invites. Yeah, good move. Hmmm...only 2 NCAA invites? The only reason that the A10 got 2 invites this year was because Xavier blew it in the conf tourney. Had both SIU and Creighton lost in the MVC semis, they would have had 3 or 4 depending who made it. Why don't people just accept that the MVC is heads and shoulders above the A10?
  20. >Bernie says a move to the MVC could be part of a Majerus >hire. > >http://www.stltoday.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=450132 I like this guy more everyday. Hire him! Move to the Valley (if they'd have us)! Rekindle the rivalry with Bradley, maintain the rivalry with MoSt and SIU! Beautiful! So much for those of us who got told we were idiots for wanting the change to the MVC, I guess we have some solid supporters now(if this is indeed true) If we switched back to the MVC, and hired Majerus, it could be the dawning of a golden era of SLU basketball...
  21. I heard today from my inside source that Biondi was having lunch today in the Subway formerly known as Demat cafeteria with Phil Jackson. Take it for what it is worth. How do you guys feel Phil's coaching style would go over in the college ranks? Think he still has some gas in the tank to go out recruiting?
  22. >WHY IS NOTHING GOING THROUGH THE NORMAL CHANNELS!?!?!? Hey, just lay back and enjoy the ride. If they land Majerus, it'll be one helluva ride.
  23. >meanwhile we just lost any chance of finishing recruiting, >we probably are in danger of at least losing relephorde, and >anyone that doesnt think that lisch and liddell arent >getting text messages from all over the country is naive. > Enough of the TL and KL are transferring!! If Lisch or Liddell want to transfer, they're kind of stuck. They are going into their junior years. They would have to sit out that year. That would leave them with 1 year of eligibility. What bigtime program would want to tie up a scholarship for 1 year of play? Why would someone who has a legit chance of going to the NBA (TL) want to kill his chances by sitting out a year and returning as a senior somewhere? If they do transfer, more power to them and standing up for what they believe in. Dumb move in the long run, but its a ballsy one.
  24. >right; immediately, doesn't seem so terrible. But,get >severed at 40% of your pay and know that you can't get a job >for AT LEAST another year, then shoot your mouth off. Damn, I cant believe there are people out there that survive on under 25k a year. How do they do it? They are amazing. Hopefully Brad won't have to steal bread and noodles from Aldi. There are plenty of assistant positions open. Brad is a decent coach. He will land on his feet. Stop with the poor-Brad vibe, and act like you have a grip on reality.
