The kid is in college hes a legal adult....please.  And the story blew up on barstool.

And a college kid should know better .... but I still believe fans should not go after a Coach's family.  It's classless.

Its funny that now this board finally wants Ford's head.  We haven't defended a three point shot since he has been here.  I've wanted him fired for at least 5 years. But I was a "Troll" for saying so.   This year I have  been mostly silent. Honestly, theres been no reason to comment. Its a disaster.  But now we find out that Ford literally has his kid trying to defend his sorry reputation online with fake twitter accounts.  I wonder if little Ford Jr. is lurking on this board.  Maybe he has been leading the charge against me for years...  Who knows how many accounts he has.

Either way...I was right the entire time and everyone owes me an apology.  Ford cannot coach and he wasted Goodwin and Collins, and now has a team that is Crews level. He has never once won a big game or made adjustments to figure things out at halftime.   The Isabell run was a fluke fueled by a player that almost didn't happen anyway because of what....ANOTHER WIDE OPEN THREE.  I will never forget when that shot went up from the corner I was praying it missed.  It did and we got to the dance only to be neutered by Va Tech.   But yea, Ford can recruit but thats it. And honestly I am not sure if he can even do that. It might be all on Corey Tate.

    Happy New Year.

Anyone who goes after a Coach's family is a pitiful case, a troll.  Leave his family out of it "Joey the Troll".

Uh what? A home win against a team ranked 90th means we should be totally content?  This proves nothing more than how far this program has fallen.

Grinch  ..... let's look at the bright side.  This team could actually be fun to watch the rest of the year!  That's what I'm excited about.  There's 352 Division I basketball teams ...... you do know that almost none of them will ever reach the level of Duke, UNC, KU, Kentucky, et al ?

They were quicker, which is very important on defense.

Jimerson would be a much better player today under rickma's tutelage, so would Hargrove. Parker is just a tremendous player on any roster.

Again we are talking about Ford's old recruiting. This recruiting class he has this year is pretty limited imo. We have ineligible guys, tim dalger, mike meadows, and Bruce/van Bussel.

I mean people on this forum cheered for Crews' guys too, and they also won over 10 games each year. My point is that we are back at that level. Majerus ran off all of Sodie's last recruiting class. Ford ran off all of Crews' recruiting class.

This one we mostly have seniors that were brought in. I think Bruce will develop if he stays, Bussel I have doubts. However as I've said elsewhere this is not how teams should be recruiting and playing now. Let other schools develop guys.

This team is not good man. I saw that against Wichita State.

We need new energy and excitement, that means moving on from CTF.

To the players. We the fans thank you for coming to SLU. However, the overall roster is not built in a way that leads to winning basketball games. That is the coaches fault not yours. The lacking offensive, defensive schemes, in game adjustments, and substitution patterns are the coaches fault not yours.

To posters tired of all the negativity. I'm sorry. I don't like to be negative. I prefer to cheer on my team. But I want my team to win. It's not winning because of May and Ford so we need to force this change. If you don't like it don't click on the clearly titled thread.

As for having "nothing better to do." Antagonizing the ardent fans, bold strategy Cotton. Let's see how that works out. Another unforced error by Ford.

Such a bitter attitude ..... it's just a game bro.

It sucks. I still schedule my nights around watching the game but I do it knowing I’m going to be disappointed by halftime.

Alarm goes off to early to drink these games tolerable.

Glad I turned it off Saturday after the first half to watch football ... the second half must of been brutal.

    Dear Fellow MBMs,

We are the most ardent fans of SLU Athletics in general and men's basketball specifically. It is clear many of us feel that the current Athletic Department is failing and the outlook for the basketball team is poor. Therefore, the time to seek a change of Athletic Director and subsequent change of MBB coach is now to be positioned to hire at the end of the season. This effort is not a personal vendetta against Chris May or Travis Ford, it is based on performance. We the fans do have power and if we work together we can influence those with greater influence and decision making power on the direction of SLU Athletics. If we share input, information and cooperate in the endeavor it will increase our chances of success.  Here's a proposed plan of action:

Steps for AD Change (MBB Coach change to follow):

    1. Contact AD May and request he resign.

    2. If he refuses to resign then follow up with the President, Board of Trustees and SLU Sponsors

     a. Outline the failures of AD and the basketball team

     b. bad basketball equals bad investment for sponsors

    3. If the above is unsuccessful

     a. contact media

     b. start social media campaign

     c. other protests/actions TBD

    Tasks to Complete:

    A. Please provide input on other possible steps or how to maximize impact in this thread

    B. Draft emails detailing our grievances

    C. Share key contacts to target in this campaign

    D. Determine a method to collaborate (I recommend we work in Google Drive where we can collectively work on drafts and share information)

We are not muckrakers reacting to emotional whims, it has taken years of under achievement to bring us to this point. We can continue to suffer and complain about it or we can organize and act. I'm a man of action, are you? If so let's join together and bring about needed change.

    Sincerely,

    The A Bomb

So sick of these posts ...... putting you on my "ignore" list.

Ford likes it here. Glad he’s found his home. But do the fans like him here is the issue. Last season was a real wake up call for most fans. And this year’s likely demise will make last season’s collapse look like a banner year.

    Still backing Ford.

Yes but didn't he transfer twice since he left SLU?

Maybe because he went JC after transferring from SLU.  So my guess that transfer doesn't count as a D1 transfer.  Then to WVU then transferred to Mississippi State.

So if Ford overcomes the obstacles he's created for himself and wins 15 games vs the weakest schedule in memory, he's a "heck of a coach"?

OK, that's 1 way to look at it.

Yep, you are right .... that's how I see it.  And I would like to know how Ford "created" Parker's injury.  Hmm.

Parker was a nice player but lets be honest he was not the kingpin on the team.  If people are going use the 6 weeks or so loss of Parker for the team and Ford to fold their tents and give them all a pass then that is the most idiotic attitude I have ever seen.  Injuries happen all the time and good coaches find away to work around it.  We aren't talking about 3 key players lost.  Do I have faith that Ford will figure it out - history says who knows.

Ford is working with just a 10 player squad (not counting walk-ons) now.  He is down 2 starters (Parker, Ezewiro) and a player expected to be in the rotation (Magassa).  And now players expected to be the last guys on the bench (Curcic, van Bussel) could be forced to play meaningful minutes.  Ford will have to be one heck of a coach to go better than 15 wins this year IMO.
