I have reached billiken_roy levels of posting (7/7)

  1. The reports of my death may have been greatly exaggerated.
  2. It really doesn't matter if you are ranked high or low in preseason polls. The people who matter most - coaches, know who will be good and who probably won't.
  3. Honestly what did you expect? No one is going to give you any information about an employee especially if there is any possibility of a civil lawsuit. I am some what heartened that you got a response - though it may not have actually come from him.
  4. Just the opposite - he offered very few and got none
  5. Well, that wasn't my point - it was that somehow the conversation had morphed into a not attending classes discussion. All I was inquiring was that what caused my original post was that the rumor did not come to past as it was posted. Further explanations broadened the original rumor which the addition could have been correct but was not available to us at the time. I only inquired because a fair amount of time had passed, and nothing seemed to be happening in this regard.
  6. Just a question - didn't the original post about this say the players were academically ineligible. I don't remember if it said anything about not attending classes but maybe I am wrong.
  7. I was thinking the same thing - why would not the instructors turn their names in and that office follow up with somebody. The rumor really never made any sense to me at the time because I simply could not understand how one of all the assistant coaches listed did have on their bingo card to make sure all the paperwork is accurate.
  8. So should we assume that the rumor that supposedly instructors were sharing that several BB players were academically ineligible just that a cheap shot about the team? Maybe I missed something.
  9. I read it on this thread but maybe that was just a rumor someone was pushing
  10. Fair enough. If he did sign a new contract on Monday then how can he be fired without cause?
  11. Those were the words on the tweet. All I can do is go with what is published.
  12. To be fair I looked it up and the definition is exactly as I said in my post. It has some mutual decision based on the types of examples I shared.
  13. Let me say that I don't know anything more about this situation other than what I have read in this thread. I thought the wording was interesting. "Parted ways" usually means that it was mutual. Now mutual can carry many connotations - no you can't fire me I quit, or I give up we are just not seeing eye to eye, or I quit if you don't give me this or that as examples. I do agree we need to wait to see what people are able to find out.
  14. FYI - parking revenue has not in the past gone to the AD. It was being used for paying the bonds off. Same with concessions. At least that was what I was told by an AD high ranking staff person. As far as tix prices it would be hard to compute given the dynamic pricing model the AD uses. The best you could do is use season tix pricing and tix sold but even that would be somewhat questionable
  15. Lindenwood is a for profit school - the family that bought years ago when it was going under had a good business model and they made good money. Now they may have jiggered the system to get a non profit status - I just don't know. With enrollments falling I am not sure that is the type of business I would want to be in on. Does anyone know if the same family still owns it?
