ACE
The Liddell news conference is at 1:30 p.m. tomorrow. I won't allow myself to be giddy until it's official. It seems like as Billiken fans we get a lot of near misses.
NashvilleBilliken
Do you know where the conference is being held? Not that I can go or anything, but was just curious if it will be held at SLU (confirmation of his commitment)...or are these things usually held at the students high school? davidlee
I would assume it would be held at Eastside HS or somewhere in E. St. Louis, not at SLU.
slu72
I think they are usually at the player's school. Please Tommie...oh please make it SLU.
billiken_roy
slu (or any college) cannot officially have anything to do with the announcement until the official signing period next month. so the news conference will not have any signs of the billiken staff there guaranteed. i will be shocked if it isnt for slu. i read for slu on three different recruiting boards yesterday and of course we have heard from p diddy and jalensdad here. tommie is going to committ to the billikens. thetorch
The news conference it East St. Louis High in the school library per Maurice Scott. Liddell is in the bag.
bauman
Maybe as a courtesy to the young man we can all learn how to spell his name--it's Liddell.
NashvilleBilliken
While we're at it; it's Fisher (not Fischer) and Frericks (not Fredricks or Fredericks). **Just a public service announcement (not directed toward anybody in particular)
cujaysfan
who did bills win out over for Liddell? also - who was last player for bills from ESL - and don't say Claggs...
davidnark
Although technically, I think it was Lincoln. (The two schools have since merged.)

Schasz
It was not Clags, as I believe he went to Venice HS.
Schasz
No, I believe Clags went to Venice HS.
cujaysfan
i knew that Claggs had attended Venice - thus the disclaimer... tyrone - how long has that been? about 10 years? good to see brad protect the "home turf" - we all know there is some serious talent that comes out of the east side. if brad can get one of the top players from there every few years - bills will be OK. billiken_roy
in the same sense, other than darius miles and phillip gilbert, i am not sure east st louis has had a recruitable talent that was a true division one prospect since causwell. romar went after miles hard and most believe we were darius' third choice behind the nba and st johns. mistakenly, hindsight tells us that not pursuing gilbert over edwin was a mistake. i guess we could talk about mo baker, but he went to madison high school not east st louis.
