AGB91
Has anyone else noticed how much more enjoyable the games are with the announcer we've had at the last two games? Let's hope the change is permanent.
StlMel
I do like the way he announces the game, however one little wish...speed up the advertisements! For example, it took him much longer to read through the sponsors than it ever took Guy. I want to play music!
gister
I thought there were two different announcers the last two games. If they were the same, he must have had a cold the first night because his voice was not clear.
GOSLU68
Not a Guy Phillips fan! Nothing wrong with his technique or voice he just did not bother to know the Billiken players after years of doing the games and mayber announcing that we should all leave as soon as possible so they could clean the arena cast a shadow on him. I remember when they did not bother cleaning because there were no Blues games. Laurie got what comes around.
DeSmetBilliken
Not sure if it's been the same guy the past two games, but I know that the the PA guy last night was Mark Spencer, who is SLU's Assistant AD for Finance. He does the PA for some soccer games as well. Does a good job, but he would be better if he sped up on the announcements so those fo us in the band can play more. The one thing Guy does well is get through the announcements quickly.
OrlandoStewart
Mark sometime sounds like he has some marbles in his mouth when he talks.
slu_tbone
It was two different guys. The first was the announcer from the women's games who does a solid job. The second guy(ST.B Game), I had not heard before, and I did not think he was particularly exciting although I have heard worse
gister
Actually, I liked the second guy better because he was easier to hear and understand.
Box and Won
I liked him because he's not Guy.
Billiken Rich
Roger that.
Scoop
I do not like the new dude. Not very exciting. At least Guy's pre-game introductions are good.
billiken_roy
at least guy went out (hopefully he is gone) on top. who can forget that great last game instant where he had vashon newborne fouling vashon newborne.
Billiken Rich
Ian changing numbers mid game would've had him completely baffled....
Schasz
So SLU finally woke up and dumped Guy? He was really a poor excuse for a PA.
billiken_roy
without vouyoukas on the back, he wouldnt have known who he was. i bet it would have been halftime before he would have figured that out or maybe by then earl austin could have filled him in on who #40 was. billiken_roy
nothing has been announced. but 2 consecutive games guy hasnt been there. nice.
UncleRico
I also liked the second guy, better, especially since he caught on that Ian changed jerseys. My only problem is that his pregame intros leave a lot to be desired---that was the one thing Guy did well.
