Triangle andToo
Triangle was watching the Wisconsin vs Marquette game this afternoon, just a great game, trooly terrific. The announcer said that this was the 117th meeting between the 2 teams (that's right 117!). What was the first question that popped intoo Triangle's mind? That's right. What in the hell is the problem with SLU and Mizzou -administration, coaches, ego mainiatics - it is not like everyone recruits in the same areas. Coach Majerus has stated on numerous occasions that he has tried too schedule "A" game - is that his hope? Is Chris May on board? We need too hear more from Chris May on this subject. We also need too hear more from KMOX when they interview Mizzou's AD and Coach and insert this topic intoo their interviews. Who's scared - schedule Georgetown and Vanderbilt - but not our Billikens - give Too a break. Weigh In - so it goes

Triangle andToo
Triangle is trooly sorry for bringing up a topic that you 2 cannot understand. There is a new "dynamic" now in this discussion. Our Billikens now have an arena that they can schedule any night of the week. They both have their own arenas, there is no reason for any other "entities" to become involved. Mizzou played in a half empty arena on this Saturday afernoon against who? Of course our Billikens play in a half empty arena pretty much all the time. This is a money maker for both schools. Is Mizzou fearful that Billiken fans will not support their team and drive 110 miles and bring a much bigger gate than who they played tooday? Hell, our Billikens played Duke tooday, Mizzou played Georgetown and Vanderbilt. It is time for people too put the preasure on and put petty differences aside. Triangle just doesn't understand it, doesn't understand the animosity and especially the AD's attitude towards this subject. Wisconsin vs. Marquette - 117 years - one year here, one year there. so it goes

bk18
Majerus really needs to live up to his name. Give the guy an arena and a 7 digit salary and it becomes fair to expect a lot.
moytoy12
I think SLU should be in the A-10, but i'd be interested in hearing arguments that support a move to the MVC. Should make for an interesting and groundbreaking discussion.

Should make for an interesting and groundbreaking discussion. Just for the heck of it, as there's really nothing interesting to post about yesterday's game or the loss of WR and KM, what have been the top 10 topics on this board over the past 10 years or so that have been beat totally into the ground and should be ruled out for future posts. MY picks 1.) SLU vs Mizzery annual game 2.) MVC vs A-10 3.) Blake Ahern, non recruitment of greatest player never to wear a Bills uni 4.) WR/KM dismissal, exile, expulsion, 5.) Biondi's degree of commitment to being a top 50 program 6.) T Too's sanity (don't expect you newer guys to understand this one) 7.) Conference realignment, ie will there ever be a papal conference and will SLU be invited 8.) Tommie L's love/hate for RM 9.) Jimbo 5's love for Teresa Lisch 10.) Is Billiken Roy really Ward Cleaver? Weigh In - so it goes It helps that Marquette is 12th all time in NCAA appearances, not counting the years they skipped it for the NIT. And they are 9th all time in post season appearances. It also helps that Wisconsin had some challenges from the late 1940's to the mid 1990's. Obviously this topic has been discussed with great frequency. You would benefit from a forum search. Wisconsin vs. Marquette - 117 years - one year here, one year there. so it goes I posted this in another thread. Syracuse for example does not leave the state of New York prior to January of this year. Why? They don't have to do so. They make $400k plus for "buy" games. All they have done is make sure they beef up their buy games a little in recent years...but they are still home buy games where the chances of losing are not too frequent. Duke game was a one way "buy" game where Duke makes money and adds to its win total without hurting their schedule strength too much. mcglotherirvin
I think you have it backwards. The home team pays the visitor in a buy game. Slu got $75,000 from Duke for that shalacking yesterday.

Actually no I don't have it backwards. Both teams make money in buy games. The recipient gets anywhere from ...$40k to $100k plus depending on what they can command on the "buy" game market. But the home team is often times still clearing multiple six figure dollars for that game depending on the school.

Yes I should have been more clear. Cuse for example nets $400k or so AFTER paying those buy game payouts.
